Special Abbreviations
sk2p = Slip next stitch as if to knit to right
needle, k2tog, lift slipped st over the k2tog st
and off needle.
ssk = Slip next two stitches as if to knit to
right needle, insert point of left needle through
front of stitches, knit these sts together
through back loops.

Notes
1. Scarf is worked over 27 sts, with first and
last 3 sts worked in Garter st (k every row),
and center 21 sts worked in an easy lace
pattern.
2. Stitch markers are used to separate the
Garter st borders and the center lace
pattern.

instructions or by following chart.
What you will need:

Knitting Needles: 4mm [US 6]
2 stitch markers, yarn needle
TENSION/GAUGE: 21 sts = 12.5 cm
[5”] in lace pattern. CHECK YOUR
TENSION/GAUGE. Use any size
needle to obtain the gauge.

Scarf measures 15 cm [6”] wide and 147.5
cm [58”] long.
Cast on 27 sts.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Knit.
Row 2 (Right Side): K3, place marker, k1, [yo,
k3, sk2p, k3, yo, k1] 2 times, place marker, k3.
Row 3: K3, slip marker, purl to last 3 sts, slip
marker, k3.
Row 4: K3, slip marker, k2, yo, k2, sk2p, k2,
yo, k3, yo, k2, sk2p, k2, yo, k2, slip marker, k3.
Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
Row 6: K3, slip marker, k2tog, [yo, k1] 2 times,
sk2p, [k1, yo] 2 times, sk2p, [yo, k1] 2 times,
sk2p, [k1, yo] 2 times, ssk, slip marker, k3.
Row 7: Repeat Row 3.
Repeat Rows 2–7 until piece measures about
147.5 cm [58”] from beginning, or yarn is
almost gone; end with a Row 6.
Last Row (Wrong Side): Knit.
