Recycling Guide Your to a safer, cleaner
The Clermont County Commissioners and the Office of Environmental Quality, in partnership with Your to a safer, cleaner environment, and a better quality of life at home, work, and play. Welcome to Clermont County Recycling Guide Clean and Green Collaborative are pleased to provide you with the Clermont County Recycling Guide. This Recycling Guide provides you and your family with all the great information that will help you reach the right decision daily on how to safely dispose of such items as used tires, oil, antifreeze, batteries, paint, computers, wire-less telephones, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, and more If you can’t find a disposal solution that fits your needs in this Guide, please call the Clermont County Office of Environmental Quality for assistance: (513) 732-7894 or visit www.oeq.net Thanks for your help in protecting our environment and the quality of life in Clermont County. Funded by the AdamsClermont Solid Waste District RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE COLLECTION (Q) Who can answer questions dealing with garbage and recycling pick-up from my house? (A) Your waste hauler is likely either Rumpke at (513) 851-0122, or CSI at (513) 771-4200. RECYCLING (Q) Since curbside recycling is not available to me, where can I find the nearest recycling center? (A) Aluminum, steel, copper and tin metal cans, plastic bottles and jars, brown, green and clear glass, mixed paper and cardboard can be recycled at area drop-offs usually available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at the locations listed on pages 1 & 2. (Q) Since my yogurt or butter containers have the #5 recycling symbol on the bottom, can they be recycled? (A) Unfortunately these containers cannot yet be economically recycled by the local recycling facility. These containers can be mailed to Preserve Gimme 5 to be recycled. To save on postage, #5 containers can also be dropped off at any Whole Foods Store. (Q) Can Styrofoam be recycled? (A) Because there aren’t any styrofoam recyclers in the area, Styrofoam recycling is limited in southwest Ohio. However consumers can find ways to reuse styrofoam or donate used packing peanuts to a shipping store. The Alliance of Foam Packaging Recycling has a mail-in program found at the following website http:// www.epspackaging.org/info.html USED FURNITURE Oftentimes, used furniture can be donated to your local charity. However, some furniture is not suitable to be reused. Most waste haulers offer large item pick-up services to their customers if the resident calls ahead to schedule the pick-up.
