SRP 2012
Welcome
to Reading Is So Delicious,
the 2012 Summer Reading Program.
Did you know that children who read this summer will be
more successful when school starts this fall?
Reading is the most important skill your child can develop for
academic success and it’s the one thing they shouldn’t take
a break from during the summer vacation.
Research has shown that it is the children who read the most
that tend to achieve the most academically and personally.
At Helen Matthes Library, we want to support you in bringing
the love of books and reading to your child. This summer we
have 7 fun, activity-packed weeks during the 2012 Summer
Reading Program. The aim of the program is to reward your
child for reading, and to support this goal, we have nearly
70 programs designed to foster and enhance a love for
reading and libraries.
We even have a Reading Program and events for YOU!
So sign the whole family up and get reading now.

Summer Reading Exchange Bookshelf
Non-resident participants in the Summer Reading Program who do not have a library card may borrow books
from our exchange shelf located near the front door. (Books will be marked with a “Summer Reading

more than one Golden Book prize a week.)
New Books, New DVDs
We have lots of new items, books, DVDs and audio books coming in over the summer months. If you can't find
what you're looking for, then just ask a member of staff, and we'll help you find it. If we don't have a copy
here, we can request a copy from another library for you.

Going on a road trip? Check out an audio book and listen to it en-route . Or take advantage of our digital
library, Library On the Go, which allows you to download eBooks and audio books wherever you have an
