How to Complete the Accreditation Application
1- Read the Accreditation Policies and Procedures for Accreditation and Quality Assurance at BPI
Accreditation Policies and Procedures, and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
2- Incomplete Applications will be returned with a request for additional information.
3- You will need to complete and submit the application on line for new and renewals.
4- All Documents must be attached in a PDF Format.
5- Payment MUST accompany the application.
6- Payment is non-refundable
Part 1-Business Applying for Accreditation:
All of the following fields are required for submitting your application.










Physical Address: is the actual street location of your business
Legal Business Name:
FEIN# aka Taxpayer ID #
If you are a renewal, please check the renewal box and enter BPI ID (it starts with a 1)
DBA Name: If you are applying as a DBA, DBA=Doing Business As
Owner of Business
City, State, Zip Code

Check the Box regarding ownership of equipment: see Accreditation Policies and Procedures
If you do not understand Staged Accreditation please review the Policies and Procedures for Accreditation. If you
wish to participate check the box.
Part 2-Business Contact Information that is Applying for Accreditation:
All of the following fields are required for submitting your application.







Mailing Address required for correspondence.
Business Name
Primary Contact: This will be the person BPI will send ALL correspondence. This person will be
responsible for all information forwarded regarding your company’s Accreditation.

Part 3-Documentation REQUIRED to be attached to this application:

The attached documents will be in PDF Format
You must check the box before attaching the document.
Fill in the Expiration Date of your Insurance Policy
The application will not submit without the required documentation.
A-GENERAL LIABILITY Insurance Certificate:
 Coverage will be equal or greater than 1 million dollars
 Certificate Holder to be listed as:

 Enter the Policy Expiration Date
 Click the Browse Button to the right and upload your document.
 The Document should be labeled General Liability
B-Worker’s Compensation Insurance Certificate:

 Click the Browse Button to the right and upload the Document.
 The Document should be labeled Worker’s Compensation
OR
 If you are a sole Proprietor or Partnership you will not need to provide the Worker’s Compensation
Certificate but you must check the box to the left.
C-DBA Registration:
 If you have applied as a DBA (Doing Business As) you will need to check this box, click the browse button
and attach a copy of your Certificate of DBA a receipt of application is not acceptable.
D-Customer Dispute Resolution Policy (CDRP):
 You may copy and paste the CDRP click on the words CDRP on the application.
 Copy and Paste to your company Letterhead sign and date.
 Click the browse button and attach the document.
 Renewals may use the previous year’s CDRP with an updated signature and date

E-Accreditation Agreement: (please turn off your pop up blocker off)
 Check the box
 Click on the words Accreditation Agreement.
 Print this agreement
 Sign it
 Scan the ENTIRE document(all 6 pages) to your computer
 Attach this document by clicking the browse button and attach.
REMINDER: If these documents are not attached to the application IT WILL NOT SUBMIT. PLEASE NOTE once
attached you may not see the attachment on your application but these documents ARE attached.
Part 4- Certified Technicians
A
 Enter the BPI Certified Technicians ID# (this number begins with a 5).
 Corresponding Technicians Name.
 Check all of the BPI Certifications they hold.
** You are required to employ the minimum Certifications employed fulltime in order to be accredited.
Minimum Certifications required: Building Analyst Professional and the Specialty Certifications that coincides
with the work performed by your company,

Alternative Certifications Paths to Accreditation: If you are a HVAC Contractor and wish to perform
Home Performance work according to the BPI Standards you will be required to employ a BPI Building Analyst
Professional along with one of the following:
NATE: Installer and/or Service
NORA: Gold or Silver
RSES: Certification
You are required to fill in the following information:
Candidate Name, Address, Candidate Email address and phone#
Check the Certification that Applies and Attach the proof of Certification. The Candidates Card issued by the
Certifying Body with the expiration date is considered proof of Certification.

Alternative Certification Path for Envelope: If you are an Organization that participates in the LIUNA
Certification Process and would like to perform Home Performance Work involving the Building Envelope and
work according to the BPI National Standards you will then be required to employ full time a BPI Building
Analyst Professional and one technician that holds each of the three following LIUNA Certifications:
Installer
Supervisor
Energy Auditor
Verification of these Certifications must be provided in a letter from the Certifying Organization. Please attach a
copy to each area. See “Browse and Attach”

Part6 Release and Confirmation
Please read and check the release BEFORE submitting the application.
Once the application has been submitted you are agreeing to abide by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Policies and Procedures.
If an error message pops up on your computer please refer back to the application and fill in the missing
information. You will again need to change the characters in the green box.
Any application Faxed, emailed or mailed with missing information will be returned to the Company and not
processed
We will only process COMPLETE Applications.
Part 7 Type the Characters into the green box that is presented.
If you submit and then change any information you will need to repeat this step.
