LOCATION
Straddling the equator, the Maldives enjoys a year round warm tropical climate with temperatures ranging
between 23°C and 32°C. Two distinct seasons occur between May to October when intermittent rain showers
can be expected followed by the drier period from November to April.
A thriving tropical island in an aquatic paradise, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas is surrounded by the azure
waters of Baa Atoll. The natural atoll is home to Hanifaru Bay, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, making it
a peaceful haven for protected marine life. Plankton blooms during the months of May to November attracting
mantas by the hundreds, often accompanied by whale sharks feeding along side of them.
Secluded and exclusive, the resort is accessible only by seaplane or speedboat. The seaplanes are operated
by Maldivian air and take guests on a 35 minute mesmerising journey from Male International Airport across the
Indian Ocean landing directly at the resort. There is also a domestic airport nearby which receives flights from
Male, flying time is around 30-minutes and from there it’s a 30-minute speedboat ride, skippered by one of our
boat captains, to Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas.

INTERNATIONAL ACCESS
The nation's main airport, Ibrahim Nasir International, is well connected with major hubs around the world.
Located on a separate island from the capital of Male, the airport serves as the main gateway into the Maldives
for tourists. From here private speedboats and seaplanes transfer guests directly to the resorts. The airport is
small, but well-equipped with souvenir and duty-free shops, restaurants, medical facilities, prayer room and
provides banking and postal services.
Anantara has a small private lounge in the arrivals area for guest comfort while waiting for their onward transport
to the resort. The lounge serves light drinks and offers complimentary WiFi.
GETTING HERE
Seaplane
Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas is located 35 minutes by
seaplane from Malé International Airport. At Malé airport, guests
benefit from access to a VIP Lounge with complimentary drinks
and snacks, every effort will be made to arrange your resort
transfer within two hours of arriving at the lounge. Departing
guests will be transferred to the airport at least three hours in
advance of the scheduled international flight departure time.
Please provide us with your flight arrival and departure details
at least 48 hours in advance to ensure timely bookings for your
combined seaplane transfers from Malé to Anantara Kihavah.
CURRENCY
GMT + 5 hours
The most frequently used currency is the US dollar and all
traded items are priced in dollars. Other accepted currencies
include Euro and the British Pound, according to Maldivian
Monetary Authority exchange rates. The Maldives has it's own
currency called "Ruffia" (MVR) but the resort accepts credit
cards from American Express, Visa and Mastercard.
