In our computer age, we have learned how to treat the
machine when it malfunctions...just hold the three keys
at the same time! The theory is that such a sequence of
keys could not possibly happen by the chance strokes of
a youngster or novice.
That combination has gotten many a user out of
“lock up”! In fact, it has come to mean “dump” or “do
away with.”
At this New Year, we have the opportunity to get rid of
junk from 2011 and “reboot” our spiritual lives. Do you
need it?? Communion reminds us of how that works.

KIDS / STUDENTS
Due to the holiday, there will be no KidZone/Student Ministry this
weekend, December 31-January 1.
Beginning on January 8, students in Grades 6-8, plan to join Epic on
Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:45 am at the Student Ministries Center.
Also starting on January 8, students in Grades 9-12, plan to join Nexus
on Sunday nights (previously held on Wednesday nights) from 7-9 pm at
Tom and Peggy Allen’s house, 2641 Terrace Hill, Muscatine.

GLOBAL OUTREACH
Mike and Julie Ureel and family will be at Calvary the weekend of January
14-15. Mike and Julie are our “Homegrown” Partners/Missionaries in
Senegal, West Africa and serve together with another 6 families that
Calvary supports. There will be a reception for them in the Commons
on Sunday morning at the end of the worship service. They will be
sharing stories and pictures in the auditorium during the community
hour. Please plan on joining us and bring your Small/Life group.

Join a 10:30 am Sunday class!
• Ever wonder, “What is God trying to say in His story?” Panorama
Of The Bible Class answers this question and how the Bible fits
together. Everyone is welcome to attend. Class resumes on Jan. 8
in the Chapel.
• Do you have questions about your faith? Want to learn the basics
about the Bible and Christianity? Starting Point is an ideal
setting for individuals that have these kinds of questions. The
Introductory Class will be held on January 8 at 10:30 am in the
Serving Area. Questions, see Pastor Bruce.
• What does it mean to “Love God with All Your Heart, Mind, and
Soul?” Jesus identified it as the greatest commandment! How
can we love God and faithfully serve Him? Some of the topics that
will be covered in this “Love God” class include: the attributes
of God, the sovereignty of God, the word of God, obeying God,
praying to God and decision making within the will of God. Paul
Zobel will start teaching this class on January 8 on the Calvary
Campus.
• Experiencing a painful separation or divorce? Attend DivorceCare
and learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to
rebuilding your life. The Introductory Class will be held on January
15 at 10:30 am on the Calvary Campus. For more details, contact

Starting January 8, join a Sunday evening Class! Ready to spend
some quality time with your mate and other couples in a home
setting? Like to learn how to listen and respond to each other in a
God-honoring way and strengthen your marriage? Plan to attend the
Marriage On The Rock class! For more information, please contact

Starting January 18, spend Wednesday evenings at Calvary
participating in Family Night! Brochures are available at the
Information Center with detailed class descriptions. There’s something
for everyone to do at Calvary!
• One of the classes offered during Family Night is Financial Peace
University! This class will cover the importance of cash-flow
planning, investments, insurance, relating to money and so much
more. If interested in taking this class, please make a note on
your Communication Card so we can reserve your course materials
($99 charge).
