March CALVARY NEWS Pastor Kevin on Hiatus Pastor Kevin is currently on hiatus from his responsibilities at Calvary as he, and the children, are healing from the loss of Emma. In the meantime, we will be well cared for as Dr. Eliason preaches, Steve Washechek oversees the staff, and lay leaders continue to do what God has gifted them to do - the work of ministry. Doors Locked As a new security measure, Calvary is keeping all exterior doors locked, including the kitchen (Door #4). The main entrance (Door #1) will remain open during business hours. Baptism Baptism class is for those who would like to learn more about what baptism means and how it is done at Calvary. Sign up online at www.calvaryefc.org under Connect, or check the box on the Connection Card in the pews. Baptism classes will be held Sunday, March 22, 10:30 – 11:45 am, or Monday, March 23, 5:00 – 6:15 pm in the Prayer Room. Baptism, Sunday, April 12. New Bible Study Pastor Larry’s Bible study on Haggai, Zechariah & Malachi will be ending soon. He will be starting a new Bible study on Wednesday’s. It will be for men at 6 am; and for both men & women at 11 am. Watch your email, or the church website, for more details and start dates. New to Calvary? Are you new to Calvary? Come join us for a brief Welcome Reception every first Sunday of the month,10:15-10:45 am in the Fireside Room right next to the Information Center. If you missed a recent sermon, they are available for you to click and listen or download. Young Adult & College Young adult and college-aged group meets on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm. Weekday activities, both daytime and evening, are normally cancelled if area schools are cancelled. Check our website to be sure. Donation Location Donations for Salvation Army and In His Name should now be dropped off, at the new location, by the Gym doors (Door #5). 2015 Ministry Update HOLY WEEK AT CALVARY Palm Sunday, March 29 Services at 9:00 and 10:30 am. Good Friday, April 3 Tenebrae Services at 7:00 and 8:30 pm Join us for this time of remembrance of our Savior’s great sacrifice of love. Easter Sunday, April 5 Worship Services at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am No Sunday School (K-12) or Kings Kids Nursery available at all three services (Infants-2 yr olds) Preschool at the 9:30 & 11:00 am services only No Mini-congregations Families attending the 8:00 am service are encouraged to enjoy the breakfast and the service together. Note: Adults helping serve the breakfast or leading worship who need coverage for a pre-schooler during the 8:00 am service should RSVP [email protected]. Easter Breakfast, 7:15-11:00 am. Join us for breakfast on Easter morning in the Fellowship Hall. Free-will donations will benefit the Calvary youth mission trip to the DR this summer/ WORSHIP Worship Chorale Wednesdays, 6:30-8:15 pm (childcare provided). The Worship Chorale is looking for singers. Formal musical background or training is not required. The ability to read music is helpful but not necessary. We ask only that you be able to match pitch and have a heart for music ministry. March is a great time to join. Come sing with us! Hallelujah! Kid’s Choir Sundays 5:30-7:00 pm, for grades 2-6. Journey of Hope MN A group for those who live with or support a loved one with mental illness. Meet with others on the same journey in a loving, nonjudgmental, and strictly confidential environment. Call (507)288-3663 or email [email protected]. Summer Staff and Volunteers Needed Camp Victory in Zumbro Falls has a variety of overnight specialty camps. They hire 50 -70 seasonal summer staff and volunteers. Counselors must be at least 18 years old or have participated in the camps LIT (Leaders in Training) program. They also need volunteers and teenagers 16 and older to help as program, kitchen, office and maintenance assistants. For application and more information visit www.campvictory.com. Baby Items Needed New Life Family Services is in need of new infant carseats, boxes of size 5 diapers, cans of Similac Advance Formula, and boxes of baby wipes.
