Starting the integrated version of WIN_SHELL in AutoCAD
will produce no differences in screen organization, style and
behaviour.
All drawings are based on the AutoCAD specific functions –
but still under control of WIN_SHELL and the Configuration
Editor. Thus all drawing information (hierarchies, layers, …)
are available to enhance the details in the drawing.

Advantages of the 3D Drawing module
To get a feel for the vessel – the clearances between
components and the bottlenecks, the shape of nozzles with
offset, … - the 3D Drawing is the most effective tool.

Dependent on the Codes of Practices integrated in the software
package it is – based on the given vessel configuration – up to
the user to perform the mechanical design calculations for a
single Code of Practice or for all integrated ones in one step.

The AD-Merkblätter offer a variety of design facilities for
support elements and their influence on the pressurized wall as
no other Code of Practice.
These tools may also be used in combination with ASME
design calculations based on the ASME materials.
According to BS 5500 calculations the AD-S3 tools can be
used in an analogous way.
For load cases like testing, installation, emergency conditions
etc individual safety coefficients will be taken into account.
The principles (load case classification, criteria for snow and
wind loads etc, safte coefficients, superposition of loads for
necessary approvals …) are described in AD-S3/0

This package covers the evaluation of wind, filling, working
and dead loads under internal and external pressure (vacuum).
The pressure, forces and moments as result of the different
load types are listed for critical locations (lowest point of each
round, transition from pressurized vessel wall to skirt, base
ring …) and summed up with aspect to different types of
approvals.
For special load cases (for example ‘testing‘) special rates of
loads (for example only 20% of the working load) can be
defined.
For characteristic sections (transition from pressurized vessel
wall to skirt, base ring …) the loads (pressure, forces,
moments) are automatically transferred to concerning design
tools of the AD-S series (S3/1 to S3/5)

Environmental loadings resulting in forces and
moments, displacements, natural frequencies …
In addition to the ‘load evaluation acc. to AD-S3/0 …’, where
columns are handled as fixed beams, the user is free to define
the support structure.
The analysis of displacements, forces, moments and natural
frequencies are done on a Finite Element basis (beams).
The evaluations are a preprocessor step for wind/earthquake
approvals according to the methods of the AD-S3 series.

Office-Word-Interface by OLE Automation
Text results of the list generator and the calculation engine
