When we opened
in 1984, our intent was to bring you all
the good things about the South we are passionate about - genuine
southern hospitality, food authentically prepared from recipes passed
generation to generation, celebrating the South's many global
influences and the best that the land and farmer have to offer.
is more than just another restaurant, we celebrate Southern
food you’ll crave and offer a table where everyone is welcome, served
with care and regard.
Everything on our menu is prepared by us. Our straight forward
recipes are made from scratch and simply presented - BBQ sauce,
seasoned cornmeal for our Catfish, Collard Greens, Hushpuppies,
Fried Green Tomatoes, Peach Cobbler... We smoke our meats over
hickory wood and we don't take short cuts on quality. Whenever
possible, we buy directly from Southern hands: country hams, Dixie
Beer, Texas Pete Hot Sauce and make every effort to source locally
grown products.
Our only care is that you leave our table feeling thrilled with our
hospitality and the joy of a great meal. We want to be your dining
tradition with family and friends.
We take seriously our role in the communities we serve by donating
our food and services regularly, hosting fundraisers and "Our Shell
Out for Charity" program described within this menu.

Our view is if it isn’t smoked, then it isn’t true BBQ! Our meats are
seasoned with our own rub, rotisserie smoked slow with low heat
hickory coals, with our own recipe of Atlanta style BBQ
sauce. (North Carolina BBQ sauce available upon request)
Real BBQ’d meat has a smoke ring (beef) or pink tint
(pork, chicken) from a reaction to hickory smoke.
