Page 2 | CISD THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT CREATING WEB PAGES: 1. Save web pages as web pages, not single file or filtered web pages. 2. To apply a background color or import a custom background, use the page color icon from the Page Layout tab. 3. To create an internal link, highlight the text to be linked, right click and choose the hyperlink option, or click on the insert tab, and choose the hyperlink icon, locate the file in the folder used to store your files and click ok. Be sure to link to the actual file name and not the folder which Word created as a storage location for images and other objects related to each Web page. 4. To make an external link, follow the instructions in #3 but use the web address of the site…you must include the entire web address including the http://www. 5. To test your site, open your browser > go to File > Open > Browse and locate your saved file in your folder . Your links should all work if created properly. 6. Your Web Pages can all be saved as .pdf files which are easy to place into your resources folder or link to your website with interactive working links. Resave using a different name (use filename_v2.pdf) to keep the original, editable copy in place. 98% of computers have Adobe Reader allowing visitors to easily view your documents.
