Con Edison’s Redesigned Bill – Updated Sample Attached Issue 2007-19
Issue 2007-19 October 04, 2007 If you have any responses, comments or questions, please forward them to [email protected], unless otherwise noted. Con Edison’s Redesigned Bill – Updated Sample Attached The highly anticipated, newly designed bill has been mailed to all areas within our service territory! It has a totally new look showing a separate cost breakdown for energy supply, energy delivery, and taxes. Along with the redesigned bill, customers will receive a brochure that will help them understand their new Con Edison bill. Con Edison has redesigned the bill to make it easier for customers to shop for an energy supplier. We informed our customers about the upcoming changes through bill messages, special mailings, envelope messages and bill inserts. Recently we mailed a postcard as a reminder. Some new features of the bill is an easy reference page that details all of the charges on a single page and includes a Message Center where information and general messages of interest will appear. A message reading “Wondering if you can get a better deal on your energy needs? Explore your choices at www.PowerYourWay.com”, will appear consistently, unless a customer is already with an ESCO. The new bill makes it easier for our customers to understand their charges and shop around for an ESCO. We have mailed out a postcard to our customers advising them of the new bill design which we have attached for your reference. Attached is an example of our re-designed bill for a dual service customer on CUBS. The supply and delivery charges are displayed separately and a “Price to Compare Box” will be displayed underneath the supply charges, which gives the customers a price to compare when shopping for an ESCO. Taxes will also be detailed on separate line items and includes definitions under each charge. There is a message under the sales tax reading, “Buying your energy from an energy service company (ESCO) will lower your sales tax”.
