Activate: Toggles the relevant band on and off.

Gain: Applies gain to a particular band.

Freq: Sets the frequency of a particular band in semitone increments. At a sampling
rate of 96kHz the lowest frequency is 4Hz. At a sampling rate of 192kHz the lowest
frequency is 8Hz. The effect of CPU LIMIT on a frequency will be seen in the graph.

Bandwidth: Controls the number of semitones of a particular shelf band. In the
parametric bands the internal gain is adjusted proportional to the Width to help the user
hear the influence of the Width setting on tone rather than on volume.

Slope: Slope or drop off on the side or sides of the shelf band. The optimum sounding
slope for standard mode is at 12 dB per octave. Narrow BPFs of less than 1/5 Oct are
not recommended for the 8db BPFs with all of Damp,Perc and Wash simultaneously off
without careful observation of the display graph.
!Equalizer type:
!Standard (damp off): Fast acting, clear and precise mode that does not colour the
sound.
Damp (dampened cross over): Natural sounding blur at the crossover mode. Designed
to emulate and retain the acoustic qualities of individual instruments rather than to
preserve clarity. Not advisable for the master channel equalizer. Like in natural
acoustics, the rate of roll off is accelerated towards the higher frequencies and
decelerated towards the lower frequencies. Damp could be said to hide the crossover.
!Phase Shift: Adjusts the sound from a linear non-phase shifted sound to a phase
shifted sound. 100% phase shifted sound has no pre-signal sample smearing, but has a
Q factor compromised with high resonance and poor roll off slope.

Perc (percussive degradation): Produces percussive fuzziness useful for percussive
instruments. As a general rule Perc should be off.

!Wash (upper degradation): Open sounding deterioration in the higher frequencies. As a
basic starting rule Wash should be off, except when maybe using sharp BPFs above a
1/2 the Nyquist frequency. For example above 12kHz sharp BPFs will be more
predictable with Wash on when using a sampling rate of 44.1kHz.

Stereo/Mid-side: Switch between Stereo and Mid-side processing. In
Stereo the left or the right signal path can be bypassed. In Mid-side the
middle or the side signal path can be bypassed.

CPU Limit: Limits calculation lengths to no greater than the CPU LIMIT value times
65535 samples. The lowest frequency’s calculations are 65535 samples long and the
highest 255 long. 4Hz at 96kHz sample rate is a very long 65535 calculations at its
highest resolution. To help, all of CPU LIMIT changes are reflected in the graph view.

A note from a developer about knob control:

As to the behavior of the knobs, that's how circular knobs work. If you load it into a VST host with the
host's preference set to LINEAR knobs, they'll work linearly. You can also override this by holding down
the OPTION button on Mac (the ALT button on Windows), which will temporarily switch to the other
mode, so linear when you’re in circular or vice-versa. And holding SHIFT while in linear mode will give
you a FINE control. Probably a good idea for people trying to dial in an exact value. COMMAND-click
(Windows CTRL-click) on a control will center it to its middle value.
