I cannot promise to be the best President you have ever had, but I do promise to do my best.” NEW MEMBER PROCEDURES: New members will now receive a new member’s packet of information concerning the American Le Auxiliary. The packet contains pertinent information to indoctrinate new members about policies and procedures concerning the A In addition, Executive member, Ginger, has volunteered to serve as a mentor to all new members who have questions. The packag provided to all new members at the time that they are voted in, if they are in attendance at the meeting. All other new members w provided the package at the first meeting they attend. We want all new members to feel welcome and know that we truly want th part of our organization. Thank you to Ginger for volunteering and to Secretary Brie for developing the package. AUXILIARY UNIT 259 ANSWERS THE CALL: On September 13 several Auxiliary members of 259 including me answered the call from Historian Vivian Boyd to assist her and the National Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation in registering the participants of The 911 Memorial Stair Climb at the National Harbor. The stair climb was not a timed race event, but a way for fire fighters and members of the community to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live. The participants paid tribute to a FDNY by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Thanks go out to Irma Moss, Brie O’Neal, Barbara Reed, Judith Woodland and Daphanie Smallwood for volunteering for this event. Fund Raiser Ideas Requested: AUXILIARY MEMBERS WE NEED YOUR IDEAS!!!! For my term in office, one of my focuses will be to try to raise money for our budget in order to support our programs. All ideas are welcome and I advised the members at the September 8 meeting, the only bad idea is the idea to not share it with the other members and take it back home. Our next meeting will be October 13, 2014 at 6:30. Hope to see you there.
