Q3-2014
The purpose of this newsletter is to give an overview of what is happening in IB-HUB and to
communicate the most important news both to the external and internal stakeholders of IB-HUB
IB-HUB was founded in 2013 by the
International Business Degree program at
Turku University of Applied Sciences
(TUAS). We are also a member of Team
Finland Varsinais-Suomi.
IB-HUB: PROJECTS, SERVICES
AND OPPORTUNITIES
Our main objective is to support local SMEs
internationalize by providing our expertise in
various internationalization processes, from
feasibility studies to market research and
identifying potential partners. We have
students from over 27 countries who can
provide local expertise to our clients.
For companies - IB-HUB offers different
projects tailored to the specific needs of the
companies. Projects are run by enthusiastic

senior students (2 and 3 year) with the
coaching and support from experienced
TUAS lecturers. IB-HUB has already
completed several business development
and market research projects for local SMEs.
If your company is looking for new market
opportunities or wants to expand to a new
market, then IB-HUB provides the perfect
solution. With students from over 27
countries, we can provide you local expertise
and networks in various markets around the

For students - IB-HUB offers traineeship
possibilities and different project team
placements in order to help students practice
and apply their academic knowledge as well
as gain professional experience under the
coaching from TUAS staff. If you are an

Starting from September 2014, Nicolas Le Grand
takes the new responsibility as the Manager of IBHUB.
We are pleased that he has joined us and look
forward to a successful development lead by him!

How could the Baltic Sea Region be

Internationalization Seminar 20.11.2014 to

The Internationalization Seminar 2014 will
act as a meeting point for companies,
students and TUAS staff – in order to
explore
the
internationalization
opportunities that Finnish SMEs have in the
Baltic Sea Region. The countries featured
include Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland
and Russia – besides presentations, we have
also planned networking sessions for visitors
so that companies and students can
exchange information, contacts, and
knowledge among one another. Moreover,
let’s not forget the Country Exhibition in the
Lobby Area, where you will have the
opportunity to educate yourself on the
business culture and etiquette of many
countries, including the Baltic Sea Region.

Open Innovation Seminar 2015
IB-HUB Blog: Read us!
The Prestudy team of Open Innovation
Seminar 2015 has already been formed. We
aim that from now until December 2014, the
team will set up a full program for the seminar
which is expected to take place in early 2015 at
TUAS.
IB-HUB will have a blog! We are planning to
raise the awareness of IB-HUB image. With
the blog, we can give you a glimpse of what
we are doing, our views, cultural events in
Turku city, testimonials from alumni of IBHUB and so on.
The theme and all the details of Open
Innovation Seminar 2015 will be published on
our website www.IB-hub.fi soon, so stay tuned
with us and wait for updated info!

FOLLOW UP
Is IB-HUB on Instagram?
Calling for company projects!
YES! IB-HUB now showed up on Instagram! We
set up the account and started uploading our
very first pictures. Our purpose is to let IB-HUB
be close to the audience, which are partly
students in Turku region. We aim to bring the
activities of IB-HUB such as seminars, projects,
meetings, cultural perspectives in Turku region,
and be visible to our followers, to make them
realize that there are dedicated and active
members behind the name IB-HUB! We are
international, creative, workaholic and most
importantly, it is very joyful to work with us!
IB-HUB has completed a project with an SME
targeting Russian market and now we are
working on several companies’ projects, such as
focusing on the Baltic Sea markets for a SME in
Turku region as well as working with a local
company to find relevant markets for their
products and services.
