Founded in 1977 by social workers concerned about the challenges facing by new immigrants
in Chinatown, Wu Yee Children’s Services has grown to a city-scale agency serving families
throughout San Francisco, and is the city’s largest provider of Early Head Start. Wu Yee
specializes in early child education, family support services, referrals to quality child care, and
training and support for child care providers. The phrase “wu yee” means “protector of children” in
Cantonese, and truly, children are at the heart of everything we do.
Our child development centers and family resource centers can be found in Bayview, Chinatown,
The Tenderloin and Visitacion Valley. Each year Wu Yee serves more than 4,000 families, children
and child care providers in San Francisco, many of whom are low-income, recent immigrants and/
or language learners.

Become a table host
What is a table host?
A table host is a person (or group of people)
committed to filling a table of 10 seats. Tickets for Wu
Yee’s Annual Gala cost $175 per person or $1500 for
the full table.
Tickets should be purchased in advance when
possible. Once a ticket is purchased, the name(s) will
be added to the guest list.
Table hosts will
receive a book of
raffle tickets per five
guests (two books
for a full table) to
distribute or keep!
Your role as a table host
As a table host, you are not expected to pay for all 10 guests, but please make sure that your guests know
to purchase a ticket. We will be sending you printed save the date cards and/or invitations in the mail, and
setting up a customizable email invitation to help you invite your friends, family and colleagues.
Please be prepared to arrive at the Empress of China at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2014 to welcome
your guests, and plan to stay that evening until 9:30 pm.
When you arrive, there will be an envelope prepared for each table host with donation cards, envelopes and
pens. This envelope will be handed out before the start of the dinner so that every host can accept donations
at any time during the evening, in the event that a guest has to leave early.

Table host form
Hosting a table at the Annual Gala is a great way to help connect Wu Yee with community
members who are passionate about helping children and families in San Francisco
succeed.
Being a table host doesn’t mean that you have to purchase an entire table for the event (though that is
one of the ways you can become a table host).
Here are the ways you can become a table host:
• Purchase a table of 10 for the Gala and invite guests. ($1500)
• Purchase an individual ticket and invite friends/family/colleagues to purchase their own tickets,
indicating you as their table host. ($150/each Early Bird tickets by August 15, 2014, $175/each
full price)
• Co-host a table with a friend or colleague.
• Encourage your employer to host a table or support the Gala as a sponsor, and invite your
colleagues to attend.
