Meal applications are overdue! Please fill out and return the meal application for the 2014-2015 school year
as soon as possible. You must complete a new application each school year, or the students will be required to
pay full price for their meals until a new application is returned and approved. Additional applications are
available in the office.
PTO FUNDRAISER: Our fall fundraiser is up and running and will continue through October 14th. We will be
offering Dee’s butterbraids and pastry puffins, and Java Joe’s coffee. Tentative pick-up date is November
14th. Remember for those who wish to contribute to the fundraiser but don’t want to purchase items, every
$5.00 donation counts as 1 item for the student. Any questions please contact Tracie Neitling (360) 9201448. Thanks in advance for supporting your PTO.
PICTURE RETAKE DAY: Lifetouch Studio will be at our school Wednesday, October 29th for picture
retakes beginning at 9:00 a.m. There is no charge for retakes, but the complete original package must be
returned. Students that were absent on the original picture day or enrolled after September 25 th will also
have their pictures taken. If parents wish to have younger siblings photographed by Lifetouch, please bring
them to the school by 9:00 a.m.
PTO SKATING PARTY: The first PTO Skating Party for the year will be Monday, October 20, from 6:00 –
8:30 p.m. at Lynden Skateway. This is great family fun! The PTO/PTAs of Nooksack, Sumas, and Everson
Elementaries are sponsoring combined parties at Lynden Skateway this year. Come with your friends and
meet new friends from the other elementary schools. Admission is $4.50 per person including skate rental.
(Roller blades are an additional $2.00) Please remember your child must be accompanied by a parent or
guardian.
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION: We appreciate our volunteers and recognize that each of you make an
important contribution to our school! Please remember that all volunteers must fill out an application every
two years and we will need to make a copy of your driver’s license to accompany the application.
ATTENDANCE INFO: Any absence needs to be excused by a parent or legal guardian either verbally or in
writing. In the event your child is absent from school, please complete the green School Absence Note or
write your own note explaining the absence and include the absence date(s) and your signature. You may also
email our attendance secretary, Sandra Compton, at [email protected]. Send the note to school
with your child the first day he or she returns from an absence. Whenever a child is absent from school (and
we have not been notified in advance), we will call to ensure the child’s safety. If we do not receive an
explanation of the absence, we will send you a letter to let you know that the absence is “unexcused.”
ASB CARDS: Elementary ASB cards are available to purchase in the office for students in
grades K-5. Cost is $11.00 and will allow the student entry into every home Nooksack athletic
event excluding tournaments and playoff games. Please remember that ASB purchases must be
on a seperate check than payments to your student’s lunch account. For more information please

PGYAA GIRLS BASKETBALL: PGYAA Basketball sign ups are going to be held Saturday, November 1st, at
the high school at 8:30 am, with the first clinic running that day from 9-11. Registration papers will be coming
home with your girls soon. This is for all 3rd - 6th grade girls wishing to learn how to play basketball and get
the fundamentals down. Please check out the website www.PGYAA.org for registration forms you can print
off and also watch our PGYAA Facebook page for details and reminders!
