Donation/Pledge towards the New Masjid
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
All of us together can help in building Islamic
Institutions today for tomorrow. The Prophet
(pbuh) has said: “When a person dies, all of
his/her deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqa
Jariah (continuous/perpetual charity), a
beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who
prays for him”. ( Muslim).

We are actively seeking donations to
construct a new masjid and Islamic center on
a 2.5 Acre property (already bought) on
Hickory Grove Rd. An official New Masjid
Committee has been formed by IAFL to
develop and execute plans to build a new
facility in consultation with professional
experts. The new facility will house a Masjid
and an Islamic Center that will also serve as
a venue for cultural exchange between Islam
and the community at large.
Note:
With time, the size of our community has
grown, Masha’Allah, and, with it, so have
our needs. We must respond positively to
this progress and development around us
and construct a new Masjid and Islamic
Center, a center that would serve our
growing needs and be a reflection of our
community. With your help and generosity
we aim to build a new House of Allah
which will be more beautiful than our own
homes. Such an Islamic center is not only
vital to the next generations of Muslims in
the area but it is also important to our
existential identity. This new Masjid &
Center would also contribute to the local
cultural diversity in coming decades.
We are a small community whose members
come from all corners of the world.

The Prophet (pbuh) was asked as to what
Sadaqah (charity) was the best; to which he
(s) replied “the Sadaqah in Ramadan.” He (s)
also said: “Whosoever performs Nafl in this
month, for him/her shall be such reward as if
he/she had performed a Fard in any other
time of the year. And whosoever performs a
Fard in this month, for him/her shall be such
reward as if he/she had perfomed 70 Fard in
any other time of the year.”

Ramadan?
Home:
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly
loan so He may multiply it for him many
times over? And it is Allah who withholds
and grants abundance, and to Him you
will be returned.
“The parable of those who spend their
substance in the way of Allah is that of a
grain of corn: it grows seven ears, and each
ear Hath a hundred grains. Allah gives
manifold increase to whom He pleases: And
Allah cares for all and He knows all things.”

An Appeal for Your Help
We and our children also need a building with
a sound structure, built with modern facilities
requiring minimum maintenance. It should
have enough space for all our community
activities including classroom space.

In the early 1970s, when the first Muslims
arrived in the Twin Tiers, they established
the Islamic Association of Finger Lakes
(IAFL) and purchased an existing FireStation in a centrally located area. They
used it as a masjid to perform prayers,
offer Islamic studies classes to the children
and to hold social and cultural activities. It
served the purpose and fulfilled the needs
of the time effectively.
The Masjid / Islamic Center will have a total
covered area of about 13,000 sq. ft. It will
include:

Prayer hall (approx. 300 people)

Separate Wudu areas for brothers and
sisters.

Facility for funeral preparation / Ghusl

Community Hall

Kitchen

Classrooms

Interfaith Library

Multimedia Room

Kids’ Play area

Offices/Conference rooms
