Dear Participant
Please read the following information regarding your participation in the Glow in
the Park 5km Run on Saturday 11th October 2014.
I wish you all the best for your remaining training and for the event itself and I
will see you on the start line!

CAR PARKING
The event car park will be open from 5pm on the race day.
The entrance to the car park will be marshalled. Please ensure you follow the
marshal’s instructions promptly in order to minimize any queue at the entry /
exit point to the car park. Please have your head torch on you at this point as
the car parks will not have lighting.
Once parked please make your way to the registration tent.
TIMINGS:
Glow in the Park 11th October 2014
17.00: Race registration opens. Limited entries will be taken on the day at
normal fee plus £2.
19:00: The run will start between 19.00 and 20.00, we will be setting people off
in groups every 2 minutes within this hour. Please see the ‘Start’ section for
more information on this.
(Head torches are recommended to be worn during the Glow in the Park Run).
REGISTRATION:
To check you are registered for the event please visit
www.glowinthepark.co.uk and click on the event, then ‘Participant List’ for an
updated list.

Registration on Saturday 11th October is open from 17:00 at Bath Racecourse.
Please find your name and bib number on the notice board then report your
bib number to the registration staff. You can also find your bib number on the
above link to the ‘Participant List’.
You will be issued with:
 A race number to be worn on your front
 Any pre ordered Glow in the Park merchandise (hoodies or t-shirts)
 Glow bracelet and glow UV paint
Once you have registered, please feel free to browse the course map and
inspect the course.
START:
 The run will start between 19.00 and 20.00, waves of approx 50 runners 2
minutes within this hour
 You may start in any wave you like just make your way in to the start pen
 Start staff will note your bib number as you enter the start pen then go the
sound of the horn!
RUN COURSE:
The course is one lap. The course is marked with red and green LED flashing
lights. Keep the red lights to your left and the green ones to your right.
There are several glow zones on the course. Feel free to dance the night away
in these!
You can walk or run the course. The course will close no later than 22:30
All participants must wear a working head torch whilst on the course. Be aware
this is a night run. For the most part the ground is flat, even and on a grass
surface. You must still move with caution and take care when placing your
foot.

DRINK STATIONS:
There will be one drink station at the half waypoint serving water and
Gatorade.
THE DISCO FINISH:
Well done! As you finish please ensure your bib number is visible to the finish
staff. Glow medals and Gatorade for all finishers! Medals will be handed out at
the finish with products from sponsors Gatorade.
TOILETS:
These are located near to the registration and start / finish point within the
Bath Race Course toilet block.
BAR:
The bar at Bath Racecourse will be selling drinks and refreshments throughout
the night.
SPECTATORS:
The Glow in the Park Run is a superb spectator sport! Watch the spectacle of
runners making the way around the course from the grandstand.
CHILDREN:
If you have registered for your child to participate with you then please keep
your children in your care with you at all times. Any lost children are to report
to the nearest marshal and will be returned to the finish area medical tent for
collection. Announcement for the responsible adult to collect them will be
made over the PA system.
RESULTS:
The event will be timed with a live app timing system.
Results will be displayed on a large TV screen on the night.

MEDICAL:
Medics are based around the course and at the start / finish area. Please
report to any marshal or medic if you (or you see any one) require medical
attention.
