“Damage the Debt”
Day
This Sunday, October 19
We are asking FBC members to pray and consider giving a
sacrificial offering towards our Generations of Generosity fund, to
help retire the debt of the building. Every gift can make a difference!
Pick up a brochure at the church.
We need donated bags of individually wrapped candy for
the Fall Festival. These can be placed in the large tubs located around the church. Thank you!

It is amazing (in a good way and bad) to step back and
look at what I am intentional about in my life. We always
seem to make a point to do those things. Then, when I read
scripture, I see what Jesus was intentional about. In John
6:5-6 its says, “When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd
coming toward him, he said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread for
these people to eat?’ ” He asked this only to test him, for he already
had in mind what he was going to do. Jesus was constantly disciple
making. He was constantly pouring his life into other people. I know
he is Jesus, and nothing is impossible with him, but I also believe he
set a pattern for us. That’s why he said, “Go, make disciples!” I say
all of that to ask you this question, “What are you intentional
about?” Are we leaving the things that Christ instructed us to do up
to other people? Are we waiting for the professionals? If you are a
follower of Christ, you are the professional! Let us be intentional
about the work to be done, and be intentional about pointing others
toward Christ.
This Sunday, we will continue our study in Ruth, looking specifically at the relationship of Ruth and Boaz. We will also be observing the Lord’s Supper. Please prepare yourself for this special time
in our church family. Sunday evening, we are getting close to the
end of our series on the Fruit of the Spirit. Self-control will be the
emphasis this week. Don’t forget that Sunday is Damage the Debt
day. Please make this a matter of prayer as we seek to pay off this
debt.
See you Sunday!
Pastor Greg
Parents, let me direct you to another good web site that will help you
in your parenting. PluggedIn.org is a site that gives reviews of movies, TV shows, music, video games and other entertainment media
from a Christian perspective. You can go there to preview a movie
that your children have asked to see or maybe even check out the
contents of a video game that your child has asked for. Take advantage of the opportunity to make informed decisions!
Have a great week!
Start praying now for the upcoming Christmas Musical
“The Sounds of Christmas.” The Choir has been working
hard since August. They will start rehearsals on Sundays
and Wednesdays starting in November. Presentations for
the musical will be on December 6 & 7 at 7 p.m. nightly.
The Children’s musical “Back to the Manger” will be presented on
Sunday December 14 at 6:30.

To Our Wonderful Church Family,
Words cannot express the appreciation we have for you,
and for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We thank you
for the visits, cards, phone calls, food and especially the prayers
after Dwayne’s hip replacement. Dwayne has now been dismissed
by the doctor, and continues to heal and enjoy life.
Thank you,
Dwayne and Sarah Stroud

in helping on that night. We have games that require a
good bit of work, and some that require little. We would appreciate
your help again this year. Fall Festival is always a big night, and it
helps us reach out to young families as well as offer a great time of
fellowship for our church.
