Vital Impact Update & Pot-luck Lunch TODAY FOLLOWING 3RD SERVICE Bring a main dish and either a side dish or dessert. Everything else will be provided. Mountain View Food Pantry In the upstairs kitchen we have a variety of non-perishable foods available to anyone in our church family. If your family has a need, please help yourself to whatever you need from the cupboard. You may visit the food pantry Tuesday – Fridays from 8:30am – 4:30pm, on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Food donations are welcome at any time and can be placed in the collection box on the counter in the kitchen. Thank you to all those who have donated items to the food pantry. HAVE YOU HAD YOUR FLU SHOT? Mark your calendars for October 26th and get your flu shot here between 9 & 11 AM. Vaccinations are available to anyone over the age of 4. The cost is $25. Other shots available: Flu nasal spray—$35(while supplies last), Pneumonia—$90, Tetanus & Pertussis $55. Medicare Part B is accepted for the Flu & Pneumonia vaccines. YOUTH......MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE ZONE KNOW HUNGER TRIP! January 2nd—4th Cost: $30 More details will be in the November newsletter. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES It’s time to start thinking about packing a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. The OCC website states: “A small shoebox can teach a child about the love of God, lead him or her to faith in Christ, inspire pastors, and plant new churches. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out is eternal. Be a part of changing lives through the power of a simple gift.” Brochures with labels are available on the table in the foyer or you can print one at samaritanspurse.org, under the What We Do/Operation Christmas Child section. Mountain View collection dates will be November 9—16. Ladies... Please join us as we celebrate the birth of Alivia Mae, daughter of Ashton & Katie Worley. Sunday, October 26th 3:00—5:00 PM At Lori Taplin’s home: 5508 W. A St. Instead of bringing gifts, we are asking for cash donations prior to the shower. A special keepsake gift & cash gift will be given at the shower. Donations can be put in the offering plate marked “Baby Shower” or put in PO Box #52. Contact Jill or Lori with questions. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE HARVEST PARTY! Look for the bulletin insert and see where you might be able to help out. It’s only a few weeks away! INVITATIONS—to give family and friends are available on the table in the foyer. CANDY DONATIONS - are needed from church family, but not our guests. ELDER NOMINATIONS Please take a minute to look over the list of men listed here and if you feel led, nominate one or two men that you think would be a good fit as an elder. Place this slip in the offering plate or turn into the office. The Resource Team will look over the names and bring forward a few for nomination at the November meeting. (Those running a game during the first shift may come at 5:30P to eat.) Volunteers are needed to help with the games & dinner.
