WELCOME BACK!
It’s been a long, hot summer so . . We stayed inside and worked on
preparing an awesome season for you!
First, welcome to our new newsletter format. At the beginning of
every month one of these wonderful, little, totally full of information, bulletins will be available for pick-up in various areas around the park. Look
for them in the laundry rooms, exercise rooms, lobby, guard shacks and
Activities Office. We hope you like the new format. A list of classes,
crafts and groups along with their pertinent information will be available
in the Activities Office. This list is valid for the entire season. Changes
or updates will be noted in upcoming newsletters.
Secondly, if you want to know all the major activities going on
throughout the whole season, come by the Activities Office or our new
Convenience Store and purchase your Mesa Spirit Seasonal Calendar
for $7.00. It has all the major happenings already listed, plus leaves you
space to jot down your own notes. Also — you’ll probably see some of
your friends on the calendar pages — or maybe even yourself!
Last but not least, come by and meet our new Activities Department
Staff members. Vanessa and Andrea have joined our team in the office,
Kathryn, Crystal and Howard are in the kitchen. They are all excited to
help make this a wonderful season. Please make them feel welcome.
We’re looking forward to making this an enjoyable season for all of our
residents. Come join the fun!
Your Activity Office Staff
RESORT UPDATES
Great news! Starting this season we will be showcasing wonderful
items crafted by our various clubs. Some will be for sale, some will be
for show. Check them out in our new convenience store/gift shop.
Our puzzle room has become part of our Library. Now you can work
on a puzzle or read in a comfortable room with heating and cooling. Of
course you are still welcome to take a puzzle home with you to work in
the comfort of your own home.
The old puzzle room (The Apache Room located by unit 1 pool) has
become our new Convenience Store/gift shop. Come by to purchase
basic RV needs, sundries, clothing, mugs, etc. Snacks and ice cream
will also be available to purchase along with various meal items.
We have lots of changes happening in our Food Services department; new kitchen manager, new look, new menu, new ideas! We know
you’re going to like them. Keep watching for updates.
Not so great news . . . Because of damage, missing items or
lack of cleaning up after themselves, private events booked will now
have a $100 refundable deposit for use of space. All clubs and activities
are at no charge; however all groups are expected to clean up after
themselves and put the room back to its standard arrangement to keep
the privilege of using the room. Items from the Activities Loan Closet will
now have a refundable deposit of $5 per item (maximum of $20). This
deposit will be paid when you fill out the loan request and will be returned to you upon return of the borrowed item(s). Items need to be
returned in a timely fashion so others may use them. All items must be
returned clean, with all functioning parts included (baskets, power cords,
etc.) Full replacement charge will be assessed for any item not returned
in a timely manner and for damaged items.
YOUR TURN . . .
There will be a section of the newsletter set aside where information you
want added will go. Space is obviously limited, so keep it short & sweet!
Deadline for submission is the 15th of the month for the following month.
Please see notice at the bottom of this page…………………...
Texas Hold’Em has begun. Games are held on Mondays and Fridays
in the West Card Room from 6:30-10 pm.
YogAroma Therapy: Certified yoga teacher for Hatha Yoga using
Therapeutic grade essential oils interested in starting classes here. There
is a fee for these classes. If interested, come to the Activities Office for
more info.
Your Comments Answered…
We want your input so in the spirit of keeping informed, in each month’s newsletter
we will answer a few of the comments received in our comment box. We also have
an “open door” policy if you feel you need to talk to us personally.

“Why is my gate card not working?”
This has been the most asked question of the month. We now have
new gate cards for the University Street entrance. Old gate cards will no
longer work but you may exchange your current gate card for a new one or
if you do not have a gate card you may purchase one for $10 at the front
desk (this is a usage fee; not a deposit).
The gate cards also do double duty as computer room cards. If you
need access to the computer room, bring your card and we will add access
to the computer room. Cost is $20 for a full year of computer room use.
With deepest sympathy
