ANNOUNCEMENT:
The afore mentioned clubs, hereafter called the PROMOTER will conduct the 2014 SA Dirt Track State Championship for Classic
Solo & Sidecar, Modern Solo & Sidecar and Junior Solo & Senior Quads at the afore mentioned venue, on the afore mentioned
date.

JURISDICTION:
The abovementioned meeting has been authorised by Motorcycling SA Inc which has issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit
Number C14130 and is open to holders of current Motorcycling Australia National Competition Licences for all classes except
Demo Class; and Single Recreational Activity Licences or a Mini Licence for Demo Class.
The meeting will be held in accordance with the current General Competition Rules (GCR’s), these Supplementary Regulations,
and any final instructions approved by Motorcycling SA Inc.
BY ENTERING THIS MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES, REGULATIONS, BY-LAWS AND
INSTRUCTIONS.

Entries open forthwith and close last mail on Fri 17th October 2014.
In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be retained by the Club, if such
retention is approved by Motorcycling SA Inc.
Only entries received on the official entry form that is accompanied by the correct fee will be accepted.
NOTE:- LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND THE RETURN OF ENTRY FEES FOR ANY RIDER WITHDRAWING
FROM THE MEETING IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CLUB.

INSURANCE:
National Personal Accident Scheme provides basic cover for death and permanent disability.
Ambulance Insurance is compulsory for licensees.
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT COMPETITORS GIVE CONSIDERATION TO TAKING OUT WEEKLY BENEFITS
INSURANCE.

Approved Medical Services and/or Paramedics will be in attendance at these meetings prior to practice.

AWARDS AND PRIZEMONEY:
Trophies will be awarded at the conclusion of the event. All Demo Entries receive a ribbon at the event.

ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS:
10.1. A minimum of 5 riders is required to constitute a State Title class.
10.2. Should there be insufficient entries in any class of competition, the decision to run or cancel the class, or to combine events and redistribute any awards and / or prizemoney, will be at the discretion of the club, subject to Motorcycling SA Inc. approval.

RACE FORMAT:
Modern Solos - 2 laps of practice, 5 lap heats. Juniors, Sidecars, Quads & Classic Solos – 3 laps of practice, 4 lap heats. Time
allowing (points allocated on completed rounds)
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
11.1 Solo Format where there are more than 12 entries per class
The championship comprises:
a) Three qualifying heats of laps as per above format,
b) One repechage of 6 laps,
c) One final of 6 laps.
Heats and Final:
a) The number of heat positions must not exceed 12.
b) The right to compete in the final will be filled by:
i) The 10 competitors accumulating the highest number of points during the course of heats,
ii) The first two placings of the repechage.
Competitors who finish in 11th to 22nd inclusive during the course of the heats will contest the repechage.
The finishing order of each competitor in the final will determine Championship placings.
Grid positions will be pre-drawn and listed in the program for heats and/or rounds.
11.2 A Solo Format where there are 12 or less entries per class
The championship comprises four races of number of laps defined above.
Points accumulated by each competitor in the four races will determine the Championship placings.
11.3 B Sidecar /ATV Format where there are more than six entries per class
The Championship comprises:
a) Three qualifying heats of laps as per above format,
b) One repechage of five laps,
c) One final of five laps.
Heats and Final:
a) The number of heat positions must not exceed six.

b) The right to compete in the final will be filled by:
i) The 5 competitors accumulating the highest number of points during the course of heats;
ii) The winner of the repechage.

11.4 B Sidecar /ATV Format where there are less than six entries per class
The championship comprises four races of number of laps defined above.
Points accumulated by each competitor in the four races will determine the Championship placings.

MACHINES AND RIDERS:
All machines entered must comply with the current GCRs for Dirt Track Competition.
Multiple entry of the one machine in the same class of competition is not permitted.
Change of machine may be permitted up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the event in which substitution machine is required.
Provided that notice is given to, and approval given by the MSA Stewards. The substitute must have been passed at machine
examination.
12.4 Sidecars: One bike per class as per the intent of the rules. A junior capacity machine is not eligible in a senior class.

TRANSPONDERS: (All Classes excluding Demo)
Electronic Timing will be used. It is compulsory to use the Transponders provided by Revolution Timing.
a. Transponders are the Rider’s responsibility for each event hired. Any loss or damage will be charged for.
b. It is the Rider’s responsibility to ensure the transponder is mounted properly and securely to prevent damage from fouling other
components on the machine. Cable ties will be provided.
c. It is the Rider’s responsibility that transponders are returned in good condition at the end of the event, or if due to machine failure or
injury, before the machine leaves the pit area.
d. Transponders must be picked up and returned to the designated person/s. A Competitor’s MA license will be held by this person/s
and returned in exchange for the allocated transponder. MSA have agreed they will not re-issue or renew any license of any
person until the transponder is returned and/or all outstanding fees are paid. MSA will also enforce payment of any costs or fees.
e. For transponders not returned on the same day, or not returned to the designated person/s, the Hirer is responsible for the
transponder until it arrives back at the designated place. Revolution Timing, 68 Dawkins Road, LEWISTON SA 5501. This includes
while in transit with Australia Post and by courier. No excuse will be entertained for non delivery. It is recommended transponders
be hand delivered. If returning by courier or hand delivery, please ring first – 0419 008 895.
f. Transponders MUST be fitted for all practice sessions
NOTE: The onus is on the Guardian/Rider to ensure the correct transponders are on the correct bikes prior to each event.

VOLUNTEER LEVY:
ALL Riders are to supply a volunteer for flag/track assistant duty. Either duty will take approx 1 – 1.5 hours. Volunteers shall be aged
over 16 and not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. All volunteers are required to sign-in, alongside rider at 8am. Duties/times
are booked on a first-in-best dressed system. Earlier entries will get a choice of duty, once full, you will be allocated a time and duty,
that may not be to your preference. Alternatively, if you can not supply a volunteer, a $25 levy will be payable on race day. Refusal to
supply volunteer or pay levy, will result in removal from racing.

GRID POSITIONS:
Peg selection will determine your gate pick for the first race. Thereafter your gate selection will be determined by your previous race
finishing position.

RIDERS’ BRIEFING:
A riders’ briefing will be held prior to the commencement of racing, which ALL competitors MUST attend. Details will be included in the
final instructions.
Riders Practice: Riders are required to attend at Practice.

DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL TESTING:
17.1
All competitors and officials are advised that as part of the MA and MSA drug education program, drug testing may take place at any
competition in accordance with Australian Sports Commission policy as implemented by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority
and the Motorcycling SA Drug and Alcohol Policy.
If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors contact the Drugs in Sport Hotline, tel 1800 020 506.
When drug testing takes place, the payment of prizemoney may be delayed at the Motorcycling SA Inc. discretion until the results of
the tests are known.
For the purposes of drug and alcohol testing, the commencement of the meeting will be deemed to be from the start of scrutineering
with the completion of the meeting for the participant being when the participant has vacated the venue. Also, this event will be
deemed to be finished at the completion of the riding time or 30 mins after the last rider completes the course.

All competitors, officials and parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia by-law - CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the
GCRs), which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all motorcycle race meetings. This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this Meeting
and will be enforced.

NOISE:
PLEASE NOTE NOISE LEVELS MUST NOT EXCEED 2 STROKE 96DB(a) / 4 STROKE 94DB(a). ANY MACHINE FOUND TO
EXCEED NOISE LEVELS MAY BE EXCLUDED FROM THE EVENT.
GST:
The Goods and Services Tax affects the payment of prizemoney. If you do not provide an ABN or declare the sport is a hobby, the
Promoter must withhold 48.5% of prizemoney over $75.00 which is otherwise payable to you. Please tick one of the boxes on the
entry form and if appropriate provide your ABN to ensure the full amount of prize money is paid to you.

SPECIAL NOTES AND WARNINGS:
Presentation to be held as soon as practical after racing finishes.

Bar, Catering and Toilet facilities at the venue.

No Riding of motorbikes or pushbikes in the pits or carpark - $50.00 fine will be imposed

No open toed shoes allowed in the pits.

No dogs allowed anywhere at venues.

NO ALCOHOL and NO SMOKING permitted in pits.
25.7
Dumping of fuel or oils on the ground are prohibited. Please use the waste liquid drums provided.

Public Admission is $10 per adult. Children under 14 free with an adult.
25.9
Rear Tyres- Road, Trials Universal, Speedway or Dirt Track tyres are allowed. No Motocross Knobby or claw pattern allowed. Quads
– Approved Tyres only.
25.10 Junior Size machines with up to and including 85cc 2 str/150cc 4 stroke big wheel machines are exempt from tyre restrictions.
25.11 Back Protectors must comply with GCR 18.1.2.4
25.12 Junior and Senior Back numbers are Compulsory.
25.13 Environmental Protection - An absorbent mat must be placed underneath the engine/gearbox and fuel tank of any solo or
sidecar while parked in the pit, paddock or work area. GCR 20.5.0.3
25.14 Where the armour is not constructed as a one-piece suit type, knee and elbow guards must be used in Dirt Track.
