PARISH PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we ask you to bless the people of our parish. Help us to know you in a new and deeper way. Help us to listen to your Word in our daily lives. In the power of your Holy Spirit, open our hearts to your healing grace, that we may be more faithful in following you, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Lord, bless the families of our parish, especially those families experiencing hidden and special difficulties. Bless the children and young people of our parish and keep them from harm. Bless those who are old. Bless those who are lonely. Be near the poor and the sick, the unemployed and those in any need. Help those in sorrow and those in despair. Bless, protect and bring back to the ways of grace those who have lost their way. May your love be upon us as we place all our hope in you. Amen. BEATIFICATION OF POPE PAUL VI Giovanni Battista Montini, Pope Paul VI, will be beatified (the first step toward sainthood)today, Sunday, October 19th, 2014 in Rome. This great Pope of the 20th Century was one of the leading lights of the Second Vatican Council even before he became Pope. We thank God for yet another great example and inspiration from among our 20th Century Popes. BEREAVEMENT GROUP MASS The Group would like to invite anyone who has lost a loved one, not just those who have had a funeral in this church, to a special Remembrance Mass on Saturday, 8th November at 12.00 noon. If you would like a loved one remembered during the Mass please write their name(s) on the list at the back of church. Refreshments will be served after Mass. Everyone is welcome to come alone. CHRISTMAS CONCERT This will be held on Wednesday, November 26th. Tickets, at £8.00 will be available shortly. The Christmas Draw will take place on that evening. If you are able to provide a Raffle Prize please sign up in the porch. Please do think of coming along to the Concert and join with the parish family in beginning our celebrations of Advent and Christmas as well as assisting the finances of the parish. BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS To Hadley Rae Thorne Hughes who will be Baptised here at 12.00 noon today. REIGNITE YOUTH MASS Today at 5.30 p.m. in the Cathedral. Any young people who wish to go please meet Father Tony at Ss Peter & Paul at 4.45 this afternoon. It will be a regular Mass every third Sunday of the month. SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME A meeting has been arranged, especially for the parents, this Sunday, 19th October after the 10.30 a.m. Mass (approx. 11.30 a.m.). YCW IMPACT GROUP I am attempting to set up a YCW Impact group in the parish for young people aged from 13-17. If you are interested in joining please let Father Tony know. There is a day for Impact groups in Wigan on Saturday 22nd November to which we can go if there are enough young people interested in joining. I would also invite any adults who might wish to be adult companions to contact me as well. October - MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY Please remember to pray the Rosary especially during this month and pray for the salvation of souls the peace of the world as Our Lady asks us to do.
