All owners and exhibitors are responsible for knowing these rules. ENTRIES CLOSE October 24, 2014. Please enter complete information for each HORSE and RIDER(S) on the enclosed registration form. Use one form per horse. ONLINE ENTRY available at www.saqha.org. A onetime POST ENTRY PENALTY of $25 per horse will be charged for entries postmarked or submitted online after October 24, 2014. Photocopies of AQHA papers, current AQHA Open, Amateur and/or Youth card must accompany entries. Numbers will not be issued unless entry forms are completely and legibly filled out. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. All riders/handlers must have a current, individual AQHA, Amateur or AQHYA membership. Show management must inspect the membership cards or photocopies prior to issuing entries. If an exhibitor cannot produce a current individual membership card, exhibitors will complete the appropriate application (AQHA or AQHYA) and pay the proper membership fee. An exhibitor MUST PRESENT A CURRENT CARD OR PURCHASE MEMBERSHIP before they can show. Amateur certifications CAN now be obtained at the show. Exhibitors in Novice Amateur and Novice Youth classes must have a card showing “N” in membership number. See AQHA rules SHW 220-245. STALL PRE-RESERVATIONS CLOSE October 24, 2014. Stalls are available from noon Friday, October 31st at a pre-reserved cost of $50 per stall for the first night, including two (2) bags of bedding and $30 per night thereafter. Complete and mail the pre-reservation form postmarked by October 24, 2014. NO PRE-PAYMENT FOR STALLS, CHARGES WILL BE INCLUDED ON YOUR SHOW INVOICE Bedding is available on the show grounds at reasonable market prices. Send all stall reservations to Carol Whittaker ([email protected], 520907-8286. Call 480-358-3793 to pre-order bedding. Early stall arrivals should contact Tim Lynch at 480-2779003 to make arrangements. Feed can be delivered to the grounds by the nearby PetClub store. Phone orders will only be accepted if credit card and photo I.D. are on file at the store prior to ordering feed. PetClub, 4061 Gantzel Rd, San Tan Valley AZ, 480-677-4704. OFFICE HOURS: Office will be open one hour before the start of the show each day. An office phone is not available. R.V. HOOKUPS are available at a cost of $25 per night for full or partial hookups. Call 480-356-3793 to make reservations. ANY CHECKS RETURNED to show management as “insufficient funds” will be assessed an additional $30 office charge. Be aware of AQHA rules VIO 500-502. CLASS CALLS: Every effort is made to maintain a working PA system. However, the PA must be considered a courtesy. It is your responsibility to be at the gate for the classes you have entered. www.saqha.org SAQHA and its show management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. It will be a condition of entry that the exhibitor will hold SAQHA and its show management and personnel blameless for any loss or sickness to his horse(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire, theft, or otherwise. GATE ENTRIES: According to AQHA policy, gate entries will not be accepted. Exhibitors must submit class entry cards in the show office at least three classes before the class they plan to show in. CLASS SCRATCHES: Scratches must be done in the show office or at the gate prior to the class. Exhibitors will be billed for classes that are not scratched at the gate or in the office, and for classes entered after check is closed in the office. HORSESHOE PARK RULES: Exhibitors are responsible for adhering to the rules of Horseshoe Park in regards to the use of motor vehicles on the show grounds, pets and alcohol. CLASS RULES AND PATTERNS: Class rules and fees for fun classes will be posted on SAQHA website and in show office. Patterns for trail and showmanship will also be online at SAQHA.org Schedule of Fees Fee Open & Amateur $14 per class Novice Amateur $10 per class Youth $10 per class Novice Youth $8 per class NON-AQHA Class Anyone Can Ride and Walk/Trot $6 per class Other Fees AQHA Drug Fee (per horse, per show) $5 Office Fee (per horse) $8 Haul-in Fee - competitors without stall (per day) $15 Late-entry Fee (per horse) $25 Stall reservation (first night includes 2 bags bedding/ subsequent nights) $50/$30 AWARDS First through sixth place. Grand and Reserve Mare, Gelding and Stallion to receive show ribbon. Halter Grand and All-around trophies available through AQHA. High Point Awards to be tabulated on a basis of nine or more in a class: 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1: eight in a class: 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 etc. Points accumulated throughout the show. TIE BREAKERS: 1) Greatest number of first places; 2) Highest placing over greatest number of horses; 3) Tiebreaker judge. ALL AROUND AWARDS will be calculated like AQHA. One horse, one rider, one division. Halter points will count towards all-around awards, however halter is not required; horse must show in three AQHA categories to be eligible for all-around and reserve. AzQHA APPROVED SHOWS are assessed $1.00 per class entry to help fund year-end awards. This assessment is included in your entry fee. PERFORMANCE HALTER CLASSES require proof of AQHA Performance ROM. An exhibitor may not enter the corresponding halter class. STALLIONS may not be shown in novice youth, youth or novice amateur classes. Shadd Parkinson has been training horses professionally since 2001. His primary interests are reining, and cowhorse classes and he has placed at the NRHA futurity, and exhibited a reserve world champion in junior working cowhorse. With the addition of ranch pleasure classes, Shadd and his clients now show in those events too. 6 November 1st (at conclusion of day’s classes) Performance Halter with Ryan Kail - AQHA judge and professional horseman Ryan Kail will discuss showing the performance horse in halter classes. A third generation horseman and trainer, grandson of the legendary Greg Whalen, and son of Bob and Debbie Kail, Ryan will evaluate your own horse and help you maximize it’s presentation for the halter class. The first 10 quarter horses registered and attending the clinic will receive a certificate for a free entry into one AQHA halter class the next morning. Shoefly Print Raffle! Where to stay...
