The Department of Clinical Nutrition and
the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology
and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia announces a one-day symposium
designed to provide evidence-based, practical
approaches to the high-priority topics in
pediatric nutrition.
Target Audience
Dietitians, physicians, nurse practitioners,
nurses, social workers and other allied
healthcare professionals.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants
should be able to:
• Describe emerging evidence-based
nutritional therapies for the highlighted
gastrointestinal disorders
• Discuss current knowledge of select
gastrointestinal conditions
• Review the healthcare system to support
nutrition care of the vulnerable population

award contact hours. The PA State Nurses
Association is accredited as an approver
of continuing nursing education by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center’s
Commission on Accreditation.

the mailing address, fax number and Web
address. Preregistration is required, and the
deadline is Monday, Nov. 3, 2014. Payment
must accompany the registration form for it
to be processed. Once registration has been
processed, a confirmation letter will be mailed
or faxed.

A block of rooms has been reserved at reduced
rates at the Sheraton Philadelphia University
City, located within walking distance from
Children’s Hospital.
The group rate is $169 single and double
occupancy plus a 15.5 percent room tax.
Participants are required to make their own
hotel reservations by calling the Sheraton
directly at 215-387-8000. Please mention
the name of the conference when making
your reservation. The special room rate
will be available until Tuesday, Oct. 21,
2014. After that date, reservations will
be accepted according to space and rate
availability.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
reserves the right to cancel or postpone
any course due to any unforeseen
circumstances. In the event of cancellation
or postponement, Children’s Hospital
will refund any registration fees, less a
service charge, but is not responsible for
any related costs, charges or expenses to
participants, including cancellation charges
assessed by airlines/travel agencies.
In order to process refunds for course
withdrawals, cancellations must be
received in writing by Friday, Nov. 7, 2014.
No refunds will be issued thereafter.

Course Information
The Department of Clinical Nutrition and
the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology
and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia announces a one-day symposium
designed to provide evidence-based, practical
approaches to the high-priority topics in
pediatric nutrition.
Target Audience
Dietitians, physicians, nurse practitioners,
nurses, social workers and other allied
healthcare professionals.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants
should be able to:
• Describe emerging evidence-based
nutritional therapies for the highlighted
gastrointestinal disorders
• Discuss current knowledge of select
gastrointestinal conditions
• Review the healthcare system to support
nutrition care of the vulnerable population

Children’s Hospital has requested 6.5 CEU
hours of continuing education credit for
registered dietitians for the conference, and
3 CEUs for the preconference from the
Commission on Dietetic Registration.
General Information
Nursing
The conference will be held on The
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Main
Campus. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Registration fee includes course materials,
continental breakfast, refreshments, lunch and
parking on campus.
This activity has been submitted to the PA
State Nurses Association for approval to
award contact hours. The PA State Nurses
Association is accredited as an approver
of continuing nursing education by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center’s
Commission on Accreditation.
Registration Information
Attendees can register by mail, fax or
online. Please see the registration form for
the mailing address, fax number and Web
address. Preregistration is required, and the
deadline is Monday, Nov. 3, 2014. Payment
must accompany the registration form for it
to be processed. Once registration has been
processed, a confirmation letter will be mailed
or faxed.

Hotel Accommodations
A block of rooms has been reserved at reduced
rates at the Sheraton Philadelphia University
City, located within walking distance from
Children’s Hospital.
The group rate is $169 single and double
occupancy plus a 15.5 percent room tax.
Participants are required to make their own
hotel reservations by calling the Sheraton
directly at 215-387-8000. Please mention
the name of the conference when making
your reservation. The special room rate
will be available until Tuesday, Oct. 21,
2014. After that date, reservations will
be accepted according to space and rate
availability.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
reserves the right to cancel or postpone
any course due to any unforeseen
circumstances. In the event of cancellation
or postponement, Children’s Hospital
will refund any registration fees, less a
service charge, but is not responsible for
any related costs, charges or expenses to
participants, including cancellation charges
assessed by airlines/travel agencies.
In order to process refunds for course
withdrawals, cancellations must be
received in writing by Friday, Nov. 7, 2014.
No refunds will be issued thereafter.
Refunds will be issued for the amount of
registration minus a $40 service charge.
