INTRODUCTION
This one day course consisting of lectures and
an interactive workshop aims to bring together
the various disciplines who may be involved in
the patient journey when they undergo a major
gynaecological operation. Many at times, our
interaction with the various specialist would
come in the form of “blue letter referrals” when
the risk factors for the individuals patients are
identified.
To understand the rationale for their
recommendations, as well as to improve our
integration into a multidisciplinary care
enviornment,
a
course
like
this
was
conceptualized.
We will cover new concepts like the enhanced
recovery protocols used in major centers
overseas (eg Mayo clinic) as well as have a
hands on sessions on the various aspects of
wound care management which clinicians may
find particularly useful.
We hope that this course’s strong practical focus
and emphasis on important management issues
will help participants better optimise patients
for surgery and aid their earlier recovery.
