Rosaries for Amber: Please join Amber Wolfe’s prayer team by
praying the Rosary for her during these months of her surgeries and
recovery. We gather as a faith community to pray the Rosary for
Amber each Wednesday evening at 6:40 p.m. at CTK. Please contact
Patti Smith if you have any questions. During Adoration, on the
first Wednesday of each month, the Rosary will begin at 6:10 p.m.
Blood Pressure Readings: will be taken after Mass next Sunday,

During Mass, youth ages 17 & under may not leave the sanctuary unaccompanied by an adult. This is for
the safety of your children and the preservation of our church. No child should ever be in the nursery,
loft or be outside on church property without a parent or guardian to supervise them.
MEETINGS AND SPECIAL NOTICES
Evening Prayer for All Souls: This evening, 7:00 p.m., Nov. 2nd., we will remember and honor our
beloved dead, especially those who have died in the last year. During the liturgy, the names of the recently deceased will be lifted in prayer, and their family members and friends will have the opportunity to
come forward and light a candle in their memory. If you have lost loved one in the last year, please
email your name to [email protected] or submit the names in written form to
Melanie Coddington. Aware that grief observes no timetable, we will extend the candle lighting portion
of this ritual to include the remembrance of those who have died at any time.
Election Day is This Tuesday, Nov. 4th. Virginia voters will elect one of their two U.S. Senators and
their U.S. Representative. Your vote is important.
1st Wednesday of the Month, Nov. 5th:
Daily Mass: 8:00 a.m.
Holy Hour with Exposition & Benediction: 5:45-6:45 p.m. There is a sign-up sheet in the Commons;
please sign up so participation is assured. Rosaries for Amber is included within the Holy Hour. The rosary will begin at 6:10 p.m.
Worship Committee: 7:00 p.m.
Music Program to Benefit EFIA: Saturday, Nov. 8th at 7:00 p.m. a lively musical program will be
presented by The Road Scholar Choir, whose members are from across the country, including some local
voices. It will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church. A free-will offering benefits EFIA.
2014 Diocesan Annual Appeal: Thank you for your generous contributions to Our Hearts Alive With
Love. Our parish goal: $6,050.00. Our pledged donations: $15,425.00. We have reached 254.96% of our
goal! The number of CTK parishioners participating in the appeal has increased by just about 10% so far!
Your generosity will provide tremendous support to multiple ministries in our Diocese and within our
own parish. The Diocesan Annual Appeal continues. If you need an envelope for your donation, please
see Mary Byrd in the office.
Parish Day of Service: Saturday, November 8th: 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Together with our Diocese,
our Evangelization & Faith Formation teams invite everyone to participate in this effort to put our hands
to work and express and deepen our Christian Unity. A bag lunch will be provided at CTK as well as
child care. Work sites are available to provide opportunities to persons of all abilities. Please see today’s

CTK Ameritrade Account Established: Charitable contribution of long-term appreciated securities

CASA Volunteers needed: Court Appointed Special Advocates at Commonwealth Catholic Charities
needs volunteers to offer a safe place for children who have been victims of abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers develop a relationship with the child and make recommendations on the child’s best interests in
