For immediate release Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 Light Rail Station at 18th and Stout in downtown Denver closed for construction Nov. 3 to Dec. 5 16th and California Light Rail Station will open on Oct. 31 - removal and replacement of concrete loading ramp successfully completed Denver – As a part of the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) ongoing State of Good Repair efforts to provide safe and reliable service for riders, RTD is removing and replacing the concrete passenger loading ramps in downtown Denver at three stations over the upcoming months. The light rail station at 16th/California was the second of these light rail stations to be reconstructed; it will be fully operational beginning Oct. 31. The light rail station at 18th/Stout in downtown Denver will now be closed for construction for four weeks from Nov. 3 to approximately Dec. 5. During construction, no passengers will be able to get on or off the train at the station, and no trains will stop at the station. Passengers can use the 16th/Stout or the 18th/California light rail stations for D, F and H line service. Alternative routes: The Free MetroRide stops at 18th/California (traveling from Civic Center to Union Station) and at 19th/Stout (traveling from Union Station to Civic Center). This free service is a great alternative to the Free MallRide and runs Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with arrival times every five to 10 minutes.
