Cacapon State Park
Nature & Recreation Program
November 2014
On behalf of the West Virginia State Parks System, I want to WELCOME you to Cacapon State Park! Our Nature Center and trails are perfect for families and nature lovers!
Below you’ll find a list of activities scheduled for this month. I hope you enjoy your visit and take advantage of everything the park has to offer. The Nature Center is a great
starting point for understanding what makes the Park and the WV State Park System special. What’s in the Nature Center: Housing a fine collection of stuffed, taxidermy
mounts, the displays revolve around the natural surroundings of West Virginia. The 19 bird, 15 mammal, and 27 fish mounts, show past and present inhabitants of WV.
Additionally there are displays about: reptiles including several live specimens, hands-on activities for animal tracks and signs, silhouettes of birds, animal skulls, geology
and local Native American artifacts.
If you have any questions or need any assistance, please feel free to contact me at the Nature Center. I look forward to exploring nature with you!
Thanks for visiting!
