General Synod
For all those who are seeking to see a biblical voice shape the
CofE’s future in the area of human sexuality. It is aimed at
leaders of evangelical churches, and resourcing all of us who
may be called to stand up for Scripture as the CofE reviews its
approach to same-sex relationships.
Pray for Rob who is
away for the next couple of days at
an extra session of GS, mainly
concerning the final stage of
implementing the women bishops
measure, but also clergy
professional guidelines and the
Anglican-Methodist covenant.

What can we do together….?
Rob Munro
Last Sunday’s Remembrance Day parade
once again grew from the previous year—
we ran out of the 1400 sheets we printed
for the day! My thanks to all who worked
hard setting up the event, particularly
Martin Atfield and the crew, and everyone
else who helped. To see a community
gathered, with words of hope proclaimed,
is both humbling and challenging:
humbling to see some of the veterans
deeply moved by the support they felt, but
challenging because it reminds us what we
can do and be when we work together.
As we begin to look ahead to the
Christmas services, and particularly the
Victorian Christmas Market, it is really
important that we realise for such events
to reach our whole community, it takes a
whole church. That is of course why the
Lord called us to faith in this community
in the first place, so we might take our
place in serving others for His sake,
sharing good news. But that is also why we
are different in talents and personalities—
it takes all sorts to reach all sorts!
We are hugely blessed as a church family
with many, many opportunities to join in
activities with each other, that help and
support each other. But as we run up to
Christmas, let me encourage you to think
not only about the gifts you have to buy to
give to family and friends, but think about
the gift that you are to others when we join
together in serving God.
Sign up to help out
at the Market, or at
one of the other
carol service events.
Fix up to work at
something together
with others to make
a difference in
people’s lives this
year. That is what
true fellowship is—
working with the
Spirit of God, with
the people of God,
in the work of God!
Lets do it together!
Yours in Christ, Rob

Prisoner of the Month
Mission Trip Planning Evening
This is a new initiative that the “Persecuted Church Prayer
Group” are organising to encourage us all to pray more effectively for the persecuted church. Each month the noticesheet will
highlight the plight of someone suffering for their faith.
This month please pray for:
Huang Yizi from China
A Church Leader facing 10 years in prison. Please pray for
strength and courage for Huang during his detention. Pray also
that the church community can support and care for his wife and
2 children whilst he is in prison. Please pray for his release.
As part of the 5 year plan to visit annually the
Open Arms International village in Eldoret,
Kenya, we are now planning the 2015 visit.
Anyone who is interested in hearing more, or wants to consider
attending or supporting, please come to an informal discussion
evening with coffee and cake on 27th November,7.30pm at Dave
and Jo Clarks house - 5 Moseley Rd, Cheadle Hulme.
Members of the 2014 team will be there to talk about how they
were involved and their experiences.

contact Robert Webster on 07772862324
Shoebox Appeal
Thank you
A big thank you to all those who
made up boxes for this year’s
Operation Christmas Child appeal
including Merilyn’s team who did a
magnificent job in knitting scarves, puppets etc to put in them. 25
boxes have been sent from our church and will soon be on their
way to needy children in different parts of the world.
“A small shoebox can teach a child about the love of God, lead him
or her to faith in Christ, inspire pastors or plant new churches.
What goes into a box is fun, but what goes out is eternal”. For
more information do look at

BBC Children in Need
Valerie Wright is still asking for sponsors for the
walk she completed in the summer in support of
Children in Need.
Please sign up on the porch noticeboard.
Execution of Pakistani Christians
Describing the burning to death of a young Christian man and
his pregnant wife in a brick kiln in Pakistan as "barbaric", the
Evangelical Alliance wants all Christians to sign a petition and
come out and support a rally outside 10 Downing Street.

Cheadle Victorian Christmas Market Outreach (Saturday 6th Dec)
Just Three weeks to go!
Come and enjoy working and serving together as we share Christ's love and compassion with our local community.
We need help on stalls, help with craft, help with stewarding inside and outside church, help with setting up
and help tidying away.
If you can only manage an hour or two or if one half of a couple can help out for a while whilst the other cares for your
children it will all make a difference.
Getting the Victorian Look: Everyone is warmly invited to drop in to the Cafe on Sunday 30th November between 10.30am
and 12 noon, to check out what looks right, feel free to bring along any items you might already have. We will have plenty of
items in stock available to borrow.
To ensure we have enough help on the day please can we ask everyone who possible can to complete a helper's form - available
at the back of church.
For other ways of joining in with the Market outreach see the form at the back of church.

PRAYER CHAIN
Collect for Second Sunday before Advent
Heavenly Father, whose blessed Son was revealed to destroy the
works of the devil and to make us the children of God and heirs
of eternal life: grant that we, having this hope, may purify
ourselves even as he is pure; that when he shall appear in power
and great glory we may be made like him in his eternal and
glorious kingdom; where he is alive and reigns with you, in the
unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
