ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS (1 John 1:5,7) This is the message we have heard from God and proclaim to you, that God is light and in God there is no darkness at all. If we walk in the light, as God is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. *RESPONSE THE ORDER OF WORSHIP FOR NOVEMBER 2, 2014 21st Sunday after Pentecost 8:30 a.m. PRELUDE “Landas” Norwegian Folk Tune Sine Nomine Chancel Choir PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION *OPENING SCRIPTURE (Galatians 1:3-5) (Unison) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to set us free from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. NEW TESTAMENT LESSONS I Sing the Mighty Power of God No. 288 CHILDREN’S MESSAGE STEWARDSHIP TESTIMONY Steve and Ruth Sweetser CALL TO CONFESSION PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison) Father, we are sorry for the many times we have left you and chosen to satisfy our own selfishness. We have hurt members of our families in many ways, such as refusing to do our share of the family tasks. For the times we were unkind and impatient with those who needed our time and concern; for the times we were too weak to stand up for what was right and allowed others to suffer because of our cowardice; and for the times we refused to forgive others, we ask you to forgive us Father for we have sinned.
