Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles robert (Bob) Hall; three
brothers; and two sisters.
Survived by children: Charles Hall,

reddy; grandchildren, Kate Jones,

reddy and glenn reddy; great-grandchildren, Collin Jones, Elizabeth White

Her life revolved around family,
church and community giving freely of
herself without seeking recognition,

Don Herring, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri
died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at
Heartland regional Medical Center.
He was born October 6, 1942 to
Norman and Dorothy (Bledsoe)
Herring in Easton, MO.
He married Billie Jo Smith on
September 28, 1984. She survives of
the home. Don was a graduate of
Easton High School and was a self
employed home builder.
Mr. Herring was preceded in death by
his parents; and brother, Jerry Herring.

Beulah Jean (Smith) Hoover, 84, died
Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Putnam
County Care Center in unionville,
MO. where she has resided since 2011.
The daughter of Sterlie Jane and alvin
Douglas Smith, Beulah and her twin
sister, Betty Slove, were born on
December 24, 1929 in Dekalb, MO,
Betty Survives.
Survivors: daughter, Kathy Conley
(Darrell) of Maysville, MO; son, Eric
Hoover (rhonda) of unionville, MO; 4
grandchildren, ashley Bottorff (rick)
of Kidder, MO, Meeka Conley (Steve
Lux) of agency, MO. and Sydney and
Madison Hoover of unionville, MO;

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, alvin D. Hoover; one

Baines; one niece, Marilyn russell;

Beulah and alvin were married on
December 24th, 1950 in DeKalb, MO
and to this union a daughter, Kathy
(Conley) and a son, Eric Hoover, were
adopted.
Beulah was a 1948 graduate of
DeKalb High School and 1950 graduate of St. Joseph Jr. College, and taught
one year at the Sleepy Hollow rural
school near DeKalb, MO. and then
worked at West Tab in St. Joseph. Once
they adopted Kathy, Beulah became a
homemaker
and
moved
from
Blackwell road in St. Joseph to
rushville, MO. in September 1960
where they lived until 2011.
She was involved a great deal with the
rushville Christian Church, where she
was a lifelong member. She was the
vBS director for several years, church
treasurer for over 20 years, and a part
of the Crafty Critters Sewing group.
Beulah worked also in the local 4-H
Club and taught cooking and sewing.
also working for many years as an
election official at the rushville
precinct.
Beulah was best known for her outstanding black raspberry pies and jelly,
and was amazed when one of her pies
brought $165.00 at a church auction.
She was a quilter and made over 50 lap
quilts and donated them to various
nursing homes and youth homes. She
made baby quilts for each grandchild
and great grandchild.
Memorial donations in her honor can
be made to the Putnam County Care
Center or the alzheimer’s Foundation.

DONaLD r. KELLy
1934 - 2014 | age 80
Donald ross Kelly was born October
2, 1934 in Mystic, Ia. to John and
Jennie (Johnson) Kelly. He passed
away on Saturday, November 1, 2014,
at Heartland regional Medical Center
in St. Joseph.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, virginia Kauzlarich
and Jeanette Coates, and seven brothers, Harold, gerald, Junior, ronald,
Henry, James, and andy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years,
ruth (rhoades) Kelly, whom he mar-
ried on august 30, 1959, at Lucerne
Christian Church. He is also survived
by his daughter, Lana Patterson (Kent)
of greenwood, IN, and his son, Scott
Kelly (Lisa) of Overland Park, KS, and
his five grandchildren, Blake, Logan,
and Collin Patterson and John and
Katie Kelly.
Don served in the u.S. Marine Corps
from September 1954 through august
1957. He attended Centerville Iowa
Junior College and Kirksville State
Teachers College earning a Master’s
Degree in Business administration &
Education. He also attended the
university of Missouri – Columbia
earning a PhD in Educational
administration in 1970.
Don served in education for 33 years
as a teacher, counselor, and principal in
Walnut, Ia; as a high school principal
in Clarinda, Ia; as a supervisor in
School Finance at the Missouri
Department of Education in Jefferson
City, MO; and as associate Superintendent for Business affairs with the
St. Joseph School District from which
he retired in 1995.
Don was a member of Central
Christian Church in St. Joseph serving
as a deacon and elder for many years.
He also served on the Board of Trustees
at Central Christian College of the
Bible in Moberly, MO. for 23 years. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests
memorials be given to Central
Christian College of the Bible, 911 East
urbandale Drive, Moberly, MO 65270.

DOrOTHy KLuMPP
1924 - 2014 | age 90
Dorothy Ester (Dalton) Klumpp, 90,
peacefully passed away on Sunday,
November 2, in Topeka, KS. She was
born in Lincoln Township, Crawford
County, KS, on June 22, 1924, to James
riley (r.J.) and Stella Ester (Studyvin)
Dalton. She was raised on various
farms and towns in Crawford County.
She attended girard High School, graduating in 1942. after graduation, she
taught in a one room rural school
house, worked the soda fountain at
Sayer’s Drug, and in the office at Sauer
Furniture in girard.
at the end of World War II, she married Delbert W. Klumpp, who preceded
her in death. She moved to St. Joseph,
in 1978 and resided there until she
returned to Topeka in 2005. She took
great pride in her homemaking skills
including a constant supply of high
quality handmade clothing for her children and home cooked meals.
Throughout her life she displayed pride

in her home, which was always immaculately clean, beautifully decorated for
the holidays, and continually embellished with her sense of style and her
skills in sewing and other home crafts.
While in St. Joseph she organized
prayer circles for St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church where she was a member and
Past President of Lutheran Women’s
Missionary League. after returning to
Topeka she was a member of St. John’s
Lutheran Church. Over the years she
enjoyed, pampered, and “raised properly” her special companions: Buffy and
Muffin, peekapoos, and Duke, a yorkie.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy
was preceded in death by her sisters,
Thelma Whiteman Lake and Lillie
Warnock
She is survived by her children, James
F. Klumpp (yvonne Carignan) of Silver
Spring, MD, Edwin E. Klumpp
(Eileen) of Topeka, KS, and Jane
Flanagan (robert) of Bayboro, NC; 4
grandchildren, russell Klumpp (Cacy)
of Topeka, anthony Klumpp (Christi
Sparks) of Wichita, KS, Nonnie
Dickson of Waukee, Ia, and Tara
Flanagan of Bayboro, NC; 6 greatgrandchildren; sister, Louise Firkins
(Ollie); and brother, Harvey Dalton.

BarBara OzENBErgEr
1941 - 2014 | age 73
Barbara ann Ozenberger, 73, St.
Joseph, passed away unexpectedly
Friday, October 31, 2014 at Heartland
regional Medical Center.
She was born February 22, 1941 to
george and Evelyn (Leist) Forster in
St. Joseph. Barbara married James H.
Ozenberger in 1964 and they recently
celebrated 50 years of marriage.
She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, quilting, wild life and country living. Barbara loved the holidays, especially the decorations for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, James
Schneider.
Survivors: husband, Jim Ozenberger;
sister-in-law, Della Schneider; nephew,
al Schneider (Tammie); and niece,
Kim Lewis.
The family received friends Tuesday,

Paula Lou Porter, 64, St. Joseph, died
Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her
home.
She was born March 1, 1950 to Paul
and Dortha (Jennings) Porter in St.
Joseph. She was a member of Three
angels Seventh Day adventist Church.
Paula was preceded in death by her
parents; sister, Pauline Porter; and
brother, Dennis Porter.
