Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Director General through the Chief of Staff and the
direct supervision of the Ethics and Conduct Officer, the successful candidate will be
responsible for providing assistance and support to the daily work of the Ethics and Conduct
Office (ECO) of the Organization.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1.
Assist the Head of Ethics and Conduct Office in the fulfilment of the mandate and
responsibility of the Unit.
2.
Prepare case summaries including initial legal analysis of the issues and evidence
presented and recommend next step to the Ethics and Conduct Officer.
3.
Assist with the intake system of issues addressed to the ECO.
4.
Conduct initial screening of the incoming issues and respond to general queries
addressed to the ECO.
5.
Responsible for providing the required information and updating the ECO database.
6.
Track referrals and inform the Ethics and Conduct Officer on pending cases that
need attention.
7.
Provide the IOM forms and IOM guidelines to staff regarding engagement in an
outside activity and potential conflict of interest.
8.
Assist in creating, maintaining and updating the ECO intranet page.
9.
Assist in drafting and updating ECO-related documents, policy and procedures.
10.
Assist ECO in the development of training modules and conduct ECO training.
11.
Prepare reports of activities and assist in preparing ECO trends and analysis.
12.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Education


Master’s degree in Civil/Criminal Law, Criminology, Ethics, Investigation from an
accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional
experience; or
University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional
experience.
Experience




Experience in the field of Investigation, Corporate Ethics or Compliance/
Oversight programmes preferably within the UN, International Organizations or
Multinational Financial Institutions;
Demonstrated high level of discretion, professionalism, confidentiality and
integrity;
Ability to work against tight deadlines;
Field experience is an advantage.
Languages
Fluency in English and French are required. Working knowledge of a third IOM official
language is a distinct advantage.
