If you came for the greenery, you won’t be disappointed. The Laurel Forest (“Laurissilva”), UNESCO classified Natural World Heritage Site, covers a significant part of Madeira Island and that’s noticeable in the air
which is purer, in the vibrancy of nature’s colours which are richer and the tranquillity that lingers. Perfect

The Archipelago of Madeira is so rich and diversified that it will seem like a world in itself. In actual
fact, it’s about 801km 2 of predominantly green
landscape, two thirds of which are protected nature reserves. You’ll find the air is clear here and
the temperature mild, allowing you to do as you
please from January through to December.
Madeira’s mild climate is characterized by the
existence of some micro climates, which allow
for different environments in short time and space spans. This is one of the advantages of being
in such a place. On the same day the weather
will allow you to pursue various activities: warm
sunshine for a dip in the sea or a boat trip along

A place dedicated to art and culture. It was designed with the purpose of increasing public awareness of the arts generally and of contemporary art particularly.
The desire to decentralize and make culture more accessible to all underlies its
Calheta location, outside of Funchal’s urban centre. Contemporary art exhibitions
are held in the main building all year round and works of art can be purchased in
the gallery. The auditorium frequently presents musicals, films and plays and there
are facilities for holding congresses or meetings.

Calheta Harbour was inaugurated in 2004. It has 339 places and the capacity for
vessels from 6 to 25 metres, with 3,5m max. draft (hull), including 44 places for jetskis. This infra-structure includes various services, such as shops and restaurants,
fuel supply and a pump-out facility for vessel sewerage. There is also a service
centre, with meeting room and Internet access, along with other facilities intended to meet the needs of arriving vessels. Near the harbour there is an artificial
beach with golden sand.

Wine. Câmara de Lobos is a youthful place and the starting point for a good night out in Madeira. This is a place
