FROM MRS. CROSS:

Your child is busy learning and growing at China Spring Elementary! Our teachers are working diligently every day to ensure your child’s success
in the classroom. We know that your role at home is just as important to student success! Thanks in advance for helping to support your child’s
learning here at school. Try choosing one or two of the activities listed below each night before or after dinner, on the way to after-school
activities, or while waiting for big brother or sister to finish practice. We definitely don’t want to overload our kids, but fifteen to twenty minutes a
night can make a huge difference in your child’s academic success.

HOLIDAY SHOP
The Holiday Shop Returns to China Spring Elementary December 1 – 5!
A SAVINGS ENVELOPE will be coming home with your child prior to the Thanksgiving break.
This is a great opportunity to help your child learn to save in order to shop for
family and friends. Please take advantage of this opportunity to work on counting and
budgeting skills and to celebrate the holiday spirit of giving to others! Students may
earn extra by completing chores and doing their best at school. To enable parents to
help their children plan their purchases, students will be able to preview the sale and
bring home a price and merchandise list on Monday, December 1. If you are free during
the school day and would like to volunteer to work a shift at the shop, please email
[email protected]. We need YOU to help make this year’s Holiday Shop a
huge success!
A note from the nurse:
Please remember that children are
not to carry medicine of any kind,
not even cough drops or Tylenol.
While
these
seem
like
fairly
harmless things, they are medication
nonetheless,
and
should
not
be
carried by students. We have a form
that must be completed any time you
want your child to take medication
at
school.
We
require
that
medicines be transported by an adult
and kept in the nurse’s office.

MUSIC NOTES
Third graders will be performing in a Christmas and
Holiday Concert at the China Spring Performing Arts
Center (PAC) on Tuesday evening, December 9,
2014. The entire third grade will be singing
Christmas and holiday songs and playing hand bells.
Due to the size of our third grade class this year, we
will be performing in two different groups on the
same night. The blue team (Adams, Bevins, Dill,
Gregory, Heffington) will perform at 6:15pm and
will need to report to the PAC at 6:00pm. The
white team (Hodges, Ingram, Iverson, Marek,
Wright) will perform at 7:15pm and will need to
report to the PAC at 7:00pm. Each concert should
last approximately 30 minutes. Students should
wear their holiday best. If you have any questions
regarding the concert, please email Mrs. Edwards at
[email protected].
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR VOLUNTEERS!
An extra special THANK YOU goes out to our
Kindergarten parents for their help in going
early, setting up, and monitoring our children
at the Veteran’s Day Parade. We absolutely
would not have had such a wonderful
experience without your help!
Yearbooks are on Sale until Friday, December 19th!
