17th November 2014 Dear Parents and Carers Imperial War Museum Visit on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th December 2014 We are very excited to announce that Year 6 will be visiting the newly refurbished Imperial War Museum in London. This visit will enable the children to look at the World War One and World War Two parts of the Museum. Ferry and Lifeboat Classes will be visiting on Thursday 11th December 2014 Kayak and Yacht Classes will be visiting on Friday 12th December 2014 We ask for voluntary contributions from parents for such major outings, which can only be run if we receive financial help. The cost to parents of this trip, including coach transport is £15.00. Part of the full cost will be subsidised by the school. This can be paid either online via Schoolcomms Gateway or by cash/cheque to the school office (please make cheques payable to River Beach Primary School). We must inform you that if insufficient monies are received, the trip may have to be cancelled. Please fill in the permission slip below and also complete the attached parental consent form and medical questionnaire. Please return them to school by 28th November 2014, thank you. Children need to arrive at school by 7.50am. They need to be wearing their school uniform. It is a long journey to London, if your child suffers from travel sickness please could we ask that you provide them with suitable medication for the journey there and back. If your child may require medication, including an asthma pump, can you please ensure your child has it for the trip and they make their class teacher aware. Your child will need to bring a packed lunch with a little bit extra to eat and drink, as we will stop to have a midafternoon snack. Sweets are not permitted. Packed lunches will be provided for those children who normally have a hot meal. We would further ask that if children wish to bring a camera to record their visit, that they bring a disposable camera; we will be unable to take responsibility for expensive items. Children are not allowed to bring MP3 players or other portable music devices. We will be leaving London at 2.30pm and expect to arrive back at school between 5.00pm and 5.30pm, but this is obviously dependent on traffic. Children need to be collected from the large hall at the front of the school after the trip; they will not be allowed to walk home by themselves. If you are available to accompany your child’s class on the trip, please complete this section of the form below. Without additional parent/carer support there is a very real possibility that the trips might not take place. Please complete the form below and the accompanying medical form by Friday 28th November 2014. Thank you for your support.
