I had a dream, Joseph.
I don't understand it, but I think it was about a birthday celebration for our son.
Micah 6.8
Hear then,
what your God asks of you: To Act Justly, To Love Tenderly and to walk Humbly with Your God
The people in my dream had been preparing for about six weeks.
4th Sunday of Advent, Year B
They had decorated the house and bought new clothes.
Parish Office
They'd gone shopping many times and bought many elaborate gifts.
60 Osborne St, Joondanna, W.A. 6060
Tel: 9242 2812
It was peculiar, though, because the presents weren't for our Son.
Fax: 9242 2010
Web Site:
They wrapped them in beautiful paper and stacked them under a tree.
Yes, a tree, Joseph, right inside their homes! They'd decorated the tree with sparkling
ornaments.

Joke of the Week
A young man and his grandfather were playing golf. The young man found himself with a
tough shot. There was a large tree between his ball and the green.
“You know”, his grandfather said, “when I was your age, I’d hit the ball right over that tree.”
With that challenge before him, the young man swung hard and hit the ball which smacked
straight into the tree and dropped to the ground.
“Of course”, the grandfather continued, “when I was your age the tree was a lot smaller.”
We pray for the Pope and his brother bishops as they daily seek to follow Mary’s example
to do God’s will and to rejoice in the challenges that are presented to them.
We pray for the leaders of our local governments as they support and discern
new ways to reach out for those most in need during the Christmas Season.
We pray for the St Vincent De Paul Society and other charity groups as they
distribute hampers to those who would otherwise go without this Christmas Season.
We pray for those gathered here as they discern God’s call in their lives and
that they, like Mary, will respond with a generous spirit.
Computer Appreciation Course
To start February 2015. As the class will be small, we request that
potential students register their interest early.

The BINGO Report
BINGO Night last week was a great success and fun was had by all. There were also flashes
of the competitive spirit as a well known couple in the parish took out two of the rounds
early on in the evening.
We [16 parishioners] met in the Nolan room and learned the intricacies of Bingo under the
expert tuition of Lui. (For those of you who can remember the Action shop at Dog Swamp,
you will recognise Lui as the butcher in Action spruking the cuts of meat. He is now retired
and is using his knife handling skills to keep the wild bingo crowd under control!)
We hope to have other similar evenings next year and the next one will be on the second
Friday of the month of February in the Nolan room again. We will keep you posted so that
you too can participate in the wild action that is a bingo night!
St Joseph’s Men’s Group Retreat
A live away Men’s retreat is organized for next year 2015
for two nights Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of July. A
tentative booking has been made for two Seaview units
overlooking Shoalwater bay next to Penguin Island
Rockingham.
Depending on the number of men interested we will either have one or two units booked.
It will be a rather relaxed format with Men sharing their experiences together, Fishing,
BBQs and Swimming and some talks on Men’s Spirituality journey in the Catholic Church.
Check in by 4pm Friday 17th and checkout by 10am Sunday 19th . Fr Peter will say a home
mass on one of the nights.
If you are interested please contact the organizer: Martin Marbeck on 0417966583 or email
on [email protected] as soon as possible.
Bookings must be finalised by the end of this month December 2014.
