General Name Questions

Why are you launching a new name?
We believe participants, plan sponsors and the advisors who work with them deserve a retirement enterprise that delivers
more than what is available today.
Great-West Financial, Great-West Financial Retirement Plan Services (formerly J.P. Morgan Retirement Plan Services),
and Putnam Retirement were each well-established names and leading retirement services companies with different
strengths and specializations.
Therefore, in bringing these firms together, we are building solutions for our customers that surpass what each of these
firms could do individually.
Our new name represents the spirit of this new retirement enterprise — of confidence, partnership, and progress.
2.
What businesses are renaming? How does renaming affect Great-West Financial and Putnam Investments?
Empower Retirement applies to our retirement business, which was created by combining the retirement businesses of
Great-West Financial, Great-West Financial Retirement Plan Services (formerly J.P. Morgan Retirement Plan Services),
and Putnam Investments.
Great-West Financial’s insurance, annuity, and investment businesses will continue to operate under the Great-West
Financial name. You will still see the Great-West Financial name on associated products in your plan.
Putnam’s retail mutual fund, defined contribution investment-only, and institutional businesses will continue to operate under
the Putnam Investments name.

General Plan Sponsor Questions
1.
Is there an Empower Retirement Web site?
Yes. There is a new Web site and the address is www.empower-retirement.com.
2.
What does this new name mean to plan sponsors and participants?
The Empower Retirement name has been adopted by Great-West Financial, Great-West Financial Retirement Plan
Services (formerly J.P. Morgan Retirement Plan Services), and Putnam Retirement. In the coming days and months, plan
sponsors and participants will see existing names and logos replaced with the Empower Retirement name. These updates
will impact Web sites, service centers, sponsor and participant materials, and service team email addresses.
3.
When will plan sponsors and participants begin to see the new name reflected on Web sites and materials?
Plan sponsors and participants will begin to see the new name on Web sites and materials beginning January 5, 2015.

Will the current plan sponsor and participant Web sites be updated with the new name?
Yes. Effective January 5, 2015, both the plan sponsor and participant Web sites will reflect the new name.
5.
When will the participant service centers and automated phone systems begin using the new name?
Participant service representatives will begin answering the phones as Empower Retirement on January 5, 2015.
All service representatives will receive advance training on the new name and the participant Q&A.
6.
Will the phone numbers for the participant service centers and automated phone systems change?
No. The service center phone numbers will not change in conjunction with the new name.
7.
When will participant enrollment kits be updated with the new name and logo?
Enrollment kits will include an insert about the name change beginning January 5 and they will be fully updated by the end
of February 2015.
8.
When will participant statements be updated with the new name?
The December 31, 2014 statements will include an insert with a message about the name change.
9.
Will my service team have new email addresses?
Yes. It is important to note that emails sent to the old email addresses will be automatically forwarded. Effective January 5,
2015, new email addresses will have this format: [email protected]. Service team phone
numbers will not change.
10. Will the plan’s investment options stay the same?
There will be no changes to your plan’s investment options as a result of the new name.
11. Will the plan’s fees change as a result of this new name?
No.
12. For new business implementations, what is the experience for participants in transitioning plans going live in early
2015?
Participants in transitioning plans which are going live prior to January 5, 2015, will experience the Retirement Plan Services
name when visiting the Web site and dialing in to the service center. Then, starting January 5, participants will experience
the Empower Retirement name when visiting the Web site and dialing in to the service center.

Participants in plans which are going live on or after January5, 2015, will experience Empower Retirement when visiting the
Web site and dialing in to the service center.
All participants may still see some materials using the Great-West Financial Retirement Plan Services (formerly J.P. Morgan
Retirement Plan Services) name until we complete the name change to Empower Retirement in March of 2015.
