2015 Dues + Services
Statements were mailed on December 5, 2014 to all members with outstanding invoices for 2015 dues and services. Please
note that MBEX will close at the end of the day on Tuesday, December 30, reopening on Monday, January 5, 2015-- make
sure your company’s membership and services are paid before 12/30/14, as unpaid memberships/services will automatically
expire on 12/31/14.
Attend the MBEX Annual Meeting
The MBEX and The Builders Group (TBG) will host the 2015 Annual Meeting Luncheon on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at
the Town & Country Club. The event will highlight the past year’s business and report on future plans at MBEX. This year,
we welcome Karie Johnson, AIA, LEED AP, to speak about current and upcoming technologies in construction planning.

Wells Concrete Acquires Hanson Structural Precast
Wells Concrete is pleased to announce that effective November 1, 2014, Wells Concrete has acquired the Maple Grove
office of Hanson Structural Precast. Wells is excited for the opportunity to provide more complete and comprehensive
product offerings throughout the upper-Midwest. At this time, there will be no immediate change as to how their business

Need a project put back online? For the convenience of our members, MBEX keeps digital copies of bidding documents
on an internal backup server. Send an email to [email protected], indicating the project number and original bid date of
the project. Once put back online, the project will remain available until the end of that business day.
Construction Safety Seminar
Join the Minnesota OSHA Compliance and a panel of experts to discuss the different elements of safety programs used to
help assure worksite safety for employees. Panel experts will lead a discussion that goes beyong the core requirements of
the “A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction” (AWAIR) program by including practical and useful safety ideas to help
employers form meaningful safety programs for their employees. The seminar will take place on January 13, 2015 from
7:00 - 9:00 a.m. at the MnDot Training and Conference Center (1900 W Co Rd I, Shoreview MN, 55126). Participants are
encouraged to pre-register for this seminar before January 6, 2015 at secure.doli.state.mn.us/events.
Seeking MCUB Bids
Parkos construction is seeking bids from MCUB subcontractors to supply labor and/or materials for the Heywood Garage
Renovations – Metropolitan Council 570 – 6th Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55405. Subcontractors and suppliers must
be certified DBE by the MnUCP, TGB by the Minnesota Department of Administration and/or SDVOB by the US Dept. of
Veteran Affairs. This project has a goal of 15% MCUB participation. Parkos Construction intends to bid on this project as a
General Contractor. Project bids 12/22/14 at 2:00 p.m.
