The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India and Malaysian Palm Oil Council are pleased to announce the
“National Conference on Packaging & Labelling of Vegetable Oils” to be held at Y. B. Chavan Auditorium ;
Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Center, General Jagganath Bhosale Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400 021
on Saturday 31st January 2015 with the following objectives.

The Packaging Industry, especially in the recent past, has made commendable progress, both in developing
and developed economies. Developing countries in ASEAN, Africa and India are the major markets of
tomorrow, with tremendous growth potential. Changing consumer perceptions and preference, increasing per
capita income, more disposable income and fast growth in retail and consumer segments have been found to
be triggers influencing and having a high impact on the packaging sector. More often than not, product choice
by consumers depends upon innovative and convenient packaging carrying the product. Package appearance
and graphics, besides physical features, have become market movers.
It is now mandatory to pack Vegetable oils for sale to retail & industrial consumers. Hence Packaging
Technology assumes great importance for delivering & maintaining nutritious components of vegetable oils
during its full shelf life.
