We accumulate experiences,
thoughts and feelings about what
is happening in our lives. When
someone does something to us
that we don’t like we don’t know
how to forgive and how necessary
it is to do it. We are not trained in
the art of forgiveness and we cannot access this important resource
in our lives.
You don’t have to forgive others
because you have forgotten what
happened, or because it is ok what
they did to you. The reason why
you need to forgive is because if
you don’t, it affects only you. By
not forgiving you are stuck in the
time when the facts happened, obligating you to re-live them again
and again. If you don’t forgive, you
cannot move forward.
You forgive because you want
to do it, not because it the right
thing to do. The sense of peace
and the freedom that comes with
the forgiveness is the reward you
get. You, and only you, have the
power to forgive. You don’t need to
wait until the other person demonstrates regret or ask you for your
forgiveness. Do it immediately,
don’t wait. When something happens forgive the other as soon as
you can. Do it from your heart, believe you can do it and you want to
do it, it is the only necessary thing
to do.
Judith Costa
Don’t forget to include yourself in
the list. When you get angry with
yourself because things are not
going the way you want, or you
feel you failed, forgive yourself and
start again. Your relationship with
yourself is the most important you
will ever have. Don’t attack yourself, be compassionate, be kind
with yourself. Nothing is as important as loving yourself no matter
what.
There is a moment in your life
when you decide to sit and look
into the backpack of unresolved
situations related with resentment,
hatred, betrayal, lies, disappointment and fear. Maybe the events
happened long time ago but you
are still carrying them along in your
path. It will be easier for you to sit
and take a look at the people that
you need to forgive. If you don’t
want that the events continue in-
fluencing you and your life, allow
yourself to let go and forgive.
To forgive you can sit calm and
still, and make a list of events
and people you want to forgive.
Imagine yourself in front of each
person in the situation that cre-
ated the problem, and make a real
commitment to forgive. Do it from
your heart. Have the courage to
continue with your life without anything stopping you. Allow the loving
energy of forgiveness to make you
free. www.judithmcosta.com

Sho Chiku Bai (Pine, Bamboo & Plum)
Steadfastness, Perseverance, and Resilience in Feng Shui
The year 2015 is well underway
here in Los Angeles, and in our
home.
This year my husband, daughter and I are busy clearing, giving
away, tidying up our home. and
we are fortunate to have an abundance of pine and bamboo surrounding us in ouryard. I just need
to find some plum to add resilience
to our lives.
Good feng shui begins with the
person. At the center of the bagua
– the template used to measure
an auspicious home or business
– is the earth element, and the
intention is good health. If you
are healthy, you can meditate, you
can work hard, and you can find
out if you are on the right path.
You don’t need a psychic to help
you, because you can find the answers yourself. But you need to
be healthy – so this means seeing
a physician at least once a year,
eating healthy foods, including one
fresh local fruit a day, and listening
to your body so you can take care
ofyourself if there is a blockage.
Next I believe you need good feng
shui – you need to examine your
home and office to make sure your
environment is clear and does not
represent blockages that can keep
you from moving forward positively. You can hire a consultant, or
follow the template from the form
school or compass school. Or you
can take it one step further, following the template from the Black Hat
Sect Tantric Buddhist school, and
use mundane and transcendental
cures to make change.
life – this can include doing meditation, qi gong, and tai chi.
The new year begins because
the environment has changed due
to the influences of the universe,
the sun and the moon. We are in
the yin cycle, the month of January, when the days are still short,
it is cooler, and there is less sun.
We should look at this as a new
beginning, and start with looking
at ourselves. I highly recommend
taking advantage of this time to be
still, to do exercises to strengthen
and energize your body, and to
learn balance in all facets of your
Then before the Chinese new
year – the solar new year on February 4 and the Lunar New Year on
February 19 make sure your home
and business are tidy and prepared
to offer support to you as you make
way to fulfill your intentions.
I am here to help – and it will
make a difference. Happy New
Year 2015.

This Rose Bowl Hall of Fame Class
is ‘Legendary
By Earl Heath
The Rose Bowl Hall of
Fame Class of 2014 is
one which is legendary. It
headed by coaches Knute
Rockne and Dick Vermeil.
They were joined by KiJana Carter of Penn State .
Rockne coached the Fighting Irish’s famed “Four
Horsemen” team to a 2710 victory over Stanford in
the 1925 Rose Bowl, the
school’s only bowl appearance until the 1970 Cotton
Bowl.
The victory by what Rockne
would later call his favorite
team assured Notre Dame
of the Helms Athletic Foundation’s national championship.
Rockne was killed in 1931
in a crash of a plane bound
for Los Angeles where he
was traveling to make a
football demonstration movie. He was represented by
Knute Rockne III, his grandson.
Vermeil coached the Bruins to a 23-10 upset victory
over previously undefeated
and top-ranked Ohio State
in the 1976 Rose Bowl,
avenging a 41-20 loss earlier in the season.
Vermeil coach many great
players including Jerry Robinson UCLA’s first three time
All-American. “We stay in

season with a 38-20 win

“This is an honor that I
share with all of my teammates, it just shows how
special that year was,” Carter added. “It was only our
second year in the conference and we go undefeated
and to the Rose Bowl, that’s
pretty special. Without my
linemen, my tight ends, my
quarterback and the receivers all throwing blocks out
there for me, I wouldn’t be

How Some Universities Are Succeeding
In Serving Low-Income & Hispanic Students
Fox News Latino
Attending college promises a secure path to
the middle class, but in its mission of educating low-income students and students
of color––namely, Latinos––the public university system is failing. Given that communities of color are only expected to grow,
with projected population changes showing
that non-Hispanic whites will no longer be
a majority of college students by 2050, it is
more important than ever to future generations and U.S. economic security that college completion rates reflect the country’s
changing population.
As things currently stand in the U.S., students from the least advantaged populations complete degree programs at a lower
rate, take longer to graduate and are burdened with a greater portion of student loan
debt.

California Congressional
Club Briefing
Four-Time NCAA Champion From USC Daniel Nguyen Will Be Among Top Seeds at
Southern California and Long Beach USTA Pro Circuit $15,000 Futures Tournaments
Men’s professional tennis will return to the greater Los Angeles
area with the playing of two consecutive USTA Pro Circuit $15,000
Futures events on the campus of
the University of Southern California, Jan. 3-11, and at El Dorado
Park in Long Beach, Jan. 10-18.
Players with ATP World Tour rankings from the low 290s to 600
will compete for valuable ranking points and prize money in the
32-player singles and 16-player
main draw doubles. Former USC
star and four-time NCAA champion Daniel Nguyen is expected
to be a seeded player coming in at
No. 309 in the world. Also entered
to play are reigning NCAA singles
champion Marcos Giron (No. 375)
formerly of UCLA and 16-year-old
Stefan Kozlov (No. 467), who recently won the Boys’ 18s junior title
at the Orange Bowl International
Championship in Florida.
Qualifying for the event hosted by
USC and played at the Marks Tennis Stadium begins on Saturday,
Jan. 3, with main-draw action taking place starting on Tuesday, Jan.
6. The singles final for the USC
tournament will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11 and the doubles final
will take place on Friday, Jan. 9.
“We are so excited to have this
tournament at USC,” said tournament promoter and USC Men’s
Tennis Coach Peter Smith. “We
have an unbelievably strong field
of players for this level event,
including NCAA singles champion Marcos Giron, Orange Bowl
champ Stefan Kozlov and former
Trojan great Daniel Nguyen.”
Smith’s Trojans won four team titles from 2009-2012, with Nguyen
playing a huge part all four years,
including winning the deciding
match in the final both in 2010 and
2011.
“This tournament gives us a real
glimpse of the future of pro tennis,” said Smith, who added a fifth
NCAA team title to his resume last
May. “It is so important to have this
tournament in L.A., and I feel it’s
our responsibility to host it. Not
only for the public to watch but for
all the great up and coming young
tennis players in Southern California to play it.”
Most of the same players will play
in both tournaments, the second
of which will take place at El Dorado Park in Long Beach Jan. 1018 and led by tournament director
Cathy Jacobson-Guzy. Smith has
a connection to the Long Beach
event as he and Mitch Bridge operate the Southern California Junior Tennis Academy out of the El
Dorado Park Tennis Center.
Other top players entered next
week include: former Michigan AllAmerican and local from Torrance
Jason Jung (No. 323), former
UCLA standout Dennis Novikov
(No. 291), and 2012 Wimbledon
doubles winner Frederik Nielsen
(No. 345),
Up and coming Americans set to
play include: Mitchell Krueger, Ernesto Escobedo of West Covina,
Calif., former Virginia All-American
Mitchell Frank and former Pepperdine All-American and 2014 NCAA
singles finalist Alex Sarkissian,
from nearby Glendale, Calif.
The four wild cards for the main
draw have also been announced
and include current USC players
Eric Johnson and Yannick Hanfmann. Southern California’s top
junior and world ITF top 10 player
Taylor Fritz and Stanford freshman
Tom Fawcett are the other two wild
cards.

set for Saturday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.
Everyone is invited to attend both
tournaments free of charge.

USTA Pro Circuit
With approximately 90 tournaments hosted annually throughout
the country and prize money ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, the
USTA Pro Circuit is the pathway to
the US Open and tour-level competition for aspiring tennis players and a frequent battleground
for established professionals. The
USTA launched its Pro Circuit 36
years ago to provide players with
the opportunity to gain professional ranking points, and it has
since grown to become the largest
developmental tennis circuit in the
world, offering nearly $3 million in
prize money. Last year, more than
1,000 men and women from more
than 70 countries competed in cities nationwide. John Isner, Maria
Sharapova, Sam Querrey, Sloane
Stephens, Kei Nishikori, Victoria
Azarenka and Andy Murray are
among today’s top stars who began their careers on the USTA Pro

HOLLYWOOD PARK from Pg. 1
Stockbridge Capital Group and
The Kroenke Group. Stockbridge,
a real estate investment management firm, purchased the original
238-acre Hollywood Park site in
2005. The Kroenke Group (TKG),
a leader in commercial real estate
and development, purchased an
adjacent 60-acre parcel in 2013.
Stockbridge and TKG joined efforts through the HPLC venture
in 2014 to develop the expanded
Inglewood project.
“After nearly a decade of collaborating with Inglewood city leaders
and residents on the redevelopment of Hollywood Park, we are
excited to unveil an expanded
plan that will bring a world-class
sports and entertainment district
to Hollywood Park,” said Terry
Fancher, founder of Stockbridge.
“We are committed to working with
TKG to build a project that will put
Inglewood back on the map as the
home of truly great sports and entertainment venues.”
The development, named the “City
of Champions Revitalization Project,” builds on the momentum of
the original 238-acre mixed-use
project currently under construction at Hollywood Park after years
of community engagement and
the approval of entitlements by the
Inglewood City Council in 2009.
The recent reopening of The Forum enhances the potential of the
sports and entertainment district.
No tax dollars or public funding will
be used for the construction of the
City of Champions Revitalization
Project, including the new stadium. Indeed, the revised project
is expected to create a long-term
revenue source for the City of Inglewood that is substantially larger
than estimates from the prior plan.
The expanded project also will create meaningful employment opportunities for Inglewood residents
and businesses. Specifically, the
project adheres to the provisions
from the City of Inglewood’s 2009
approval, which established a goal
of at least 30% participation of minority/disadvantaged business enterprises in the construction of the
project and adds a goal of hiring
qualified Inglewood residents for
at least 35% of long-term, postconstruction jobs at the property.
Incorporating the 60 neighboring acres acquired by TKG into
the Hollywood Park Specific Plan
provides an opportunity to create a cohesive central district in
Inglewood. This new project will
blend a sports and entertainment
district into the core components
of the original plan, including new
residential neighborhoods, public
open space, parks and a lifestyle
retail area.
Signature gathering will begin
soon for an initiative that would
place the City of Champions Revitalization Project on the Inglewood
municipal ballot in 2015.
COMMUNITY
As described in the ballot measure, the 298-acre project will include a stadium of up to 80,000
seats and a performance venue of
up to 6,000 seats while reconfiguring the previously approved Hollywood Park plan for up to 890,000
square feet of retail, 780,000
square feet of office space, 2,500
new residential units, a 300-room
hotel, and 25 acres of public parks,
playgrounds, open space and pedestrian and bicycle access.
The stadium authorized by the
ballot measure will be designed by
HKS, Inc., one of the world’s leading firms for the design of sports
and entertainment complexes. A
successful ballot measure would

impact across the globe. Last
year, true to 50/50’s mission of
“equal leadership,” and both organizations honored a man, Dr.
Don Thomas, whose volunteer
work embraced their collective visions while simultaneously uplifting women of the world.
“Helping other people and being
of service became more important
than me achieving things or being
first,” 2015 Honoree Anne Windes
stated.
The Women of the World Awards
spotlight the achievements of noteworthy activism by women committed to changing transnational
environments through a variety
of non-profit organizations and/or
hands-on efforts. This year’s honorees include child advocate/African AIDS activist Tersit Asrat, author/educator Anne Windes, and
Afghani girls mentor Betsy Emerick. The honorees were selected
from a pool of peer-nominated finalists. Nominations are accepted
of persons of all ages, heritages,
countries and professions. The
criteria for judging include impact,
location, and sponsoring organization. However, winning is designated for accomplished leaders
who inspire women to set strong
goals for themselves.
“Ms. Asrat has helped hundreds of
young women in Ethiopia rebuild
their lives by providing a safe and
nurturing environment at Hosanna

nominator Sheri Stuart stated.
The WOW Awards include award
presentations, diverse entertainment and video featurettes of the
honorees highlighting their accomplishments. The WOW Award is a

Selena Gomez Life Is Quite
A Story Says Swiss Filmmaker
Selena Gomez’s scandalous ankle
shot has disappeared from Instagram.
The photo drew the ire of people who
said it was disrespectful of the singer
and actress to show her ankle in a
photo that was taken of her inside
Abu Dhabi’s Grand Mosque earlier in
the week.
Mosque rules require that skirts cover the ankles.
By Friday, the Instagram photo no
longer appeared on the star’s account.
Another photo that also drew criticism, however, remained posted.
In that photo, Selena is seen with
some friends, including Kendall Jenner, posing at the mosque, laughing.
Many on Instagram commented that
the photo also was inconsiderate.
“I was just thinking, why purposely go
to a sacred place and do something
considered disrespectful?” asked the
author of one comment.
Selena, 22, apparently traveled to
Abu Dhabi to ring in the New Year
with her friends, published reports
say.
Selena has not publicly commented
on the controversy.
In July, Selena drew criticism with
another Instagram post after she
weighed in on the raging battle on the
Gaza Strip that had killed hundreds.
She posted an image on Instagram
that said: “It’s About Humanity. Pray
for Gaza.”
“Please pray for those families and
babies today,” it continued. “Please
always remember what’s important
in life. It’s not any of this. We are
here to help, inspire and love. Be that
change. #wearethenextgeneration.”
The post received hundreds of thousands of likes, but came under fire as
well by those who accused her of taking sides against Israel.
Later Selena appeared to try to soften things.
She posted another Instagram photo
on the Gaza unrest, but this time with
an image of a woman with her back
to the camera, sitting on a beach and
meditating.
Selena wrote: “And of course to be
clear, I am not picking any sides. I
am praying for peace and humanity
for all!”

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there
are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be
bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest
bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to
free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be
aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien.
If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may
be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being
auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property.
You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and
size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company,
either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you
consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the
same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust
on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale
date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or
more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court,
pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law
requires that information about trustee sale postponements be
made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those
not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale
date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled
time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 916-9390772 for information regarding the trustee’s sale or visit this
Internet Web site www.nationwideposting.com for information
regarding the sale of this property, using the file number assigned to this case 20120134002344. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in
time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in

of Estates Act. (This authority will allow the personal representative to take many actions without
obtaining court approval. Before taking certain
very important actions, however, the personal
representative will be required to give notice to interested persons unless they have waived notice
or consented to the proposed action.) The independent administration authority will be granted
unless an interested person files an objection to
the petition and shows good cause why the court
should not grant the authority.
A HEARING on the petition will be held on Feb. 3,
2015 at 8:30AM in Dept. No. 11 located at 111 N.
Hill St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
IF YOU OBJECT to the granting of the petition,
you should appear at the hearing and state your
objections or file written objections with the court
before the hearing. Your appearance may be in
person or by your attorney.
IF YOU ARE A CREDITOR or a contingent creditor
of the decedent, you must file your claim with the
court and mail a copy to the personal representative appointed by the court within the later of either
(1) four months from the date of first issuance of
letters to a general personal representative, as
defined in section 58(b) of the California Probate
Code, or (2) 60 days from the date of mailing or
personal delivery to you of a notice under section
9052 of the California Probate Code.
Other California statutes and legal authority may
affect your rights as a creditor. You may want to
consult with an attorney knowledgeable in California law.
YOU MAY EXAMINE the file kept by the court.
If you are a person interested in the estate, you
may file with the court a Request for Special Notice (form DE-154) of the filing of an inventory and
appraisal of estate assets or of any petition or account as provided in Probate Code section 1250.
A Request for Special Notice form is available
from the court clerk.

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering
bidding on this property lien, you should understand that
there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You
will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the
highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle
you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should
also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a
junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are
or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien
being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the
property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence,
priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this
property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title
insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for
this information. If you consult either of these resources, you
should be aware that the same lender may hold more than
one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO
PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of
sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee,
beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of
the California Civil Code. The law requires that information
about trustee sale postponements be made available to you
and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the
sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been
postponed, and if applicable, the rescheduled time and date
