PLEASE READ AND POST IN HOMEROOM TRUMBULL HIGH SCHOOL A DAY STUDENT BULLETIN FRIDAY, JANUARY 9, 2015 ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS! Do you have questions on your math midterm review packets? Would you like some tips on how to prepare for the exam and strategies for taking the exam? Please see Mrs. Laird in the Media Center Classroom on Tuesday, 1/13or Wednesday, 1/14, during your lunch period. Be sure to ask your math teacher for a pass and bring your packets! There will be a ski trip to MT. SNOW on Saturday, March 7th sponsored by the Nichols Improvement Association. Forms are available in each house office. Students who are 16 and under need an adult to chaperone. Please see Mr. Mecca with any questions. This weekend is the BIGGEST study weekend of the first semester! FRESHMAN: LINK CREW is here to help. FRESHMAN ONLY: Come to LINK CREW’S COCOA AND CRAM on MONDAY, JANUARY 12 in the Senior Lounge from 2:30-3:15. We have “expert” leaders in every subject who can help prepare for next week. And we provide SNACKS! ATTENTION SENIORS: Applications for the Mr. and Miss Shamrock contest will be available in each Guidance Office starting today. Irish decent and history, family traditions, involvement in community, interests and activities will play an important role in the selection. Contestants will be interviewed. A monetary scholarship will be awarded. You will be expected to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Dance. See Mr. Matthews in B23 for further information and/or questions. Need help with your World Language Midterm? Students from the Honor Societies will be offering help sessions on Wednesday, January 14th after school: French: C27, Italian: C2, Latin: C35, Spanish: C34. . Open to all levels. Any DECA member who wishes to compete in the state competition in February MUST pay their state and national dues by Tuesday, January 13th. See Mrs. O’Connell-Rubin or Mrs. Owen if you need a dues form. Thank you. Order your YEARBOOK TODAY. January 19th is the last day to preorder a 2015 yearbook. After that day, the price will go up and we will have a limited number available. Don’t take your chances! Visit www.yearbookordercenter.com to reserve your copy. Teachers and house offices have a list of who has already purchased a yearbook. ATTENTION SENIORS – If you are a senior who is planning on pursuing a career in Education, Medical/Health Sciences, Engineering, or a Vocational Field, please pick up an application for a Weller Foundation Scholarship in B House Guidance. Application deadline is February 20, 2015. See Mrs. McEnaney with any questions. CLUB PHOTOS are coming on Tuesday, January 27th, which is a D-Day (snow day 1/29). Schedules will be posted shortly before the big day. Please check the schedule and arrive in the auditorium 1-2 minutes before your scheduled time. ATTENTION JUNIORS: Did you miss the Junior Post High School Planning Event? THE COVE GRIEF SESSIONS SESSIONS WILL BE HELD IN THE MAIN OFFICE CONFERENCE ROOM AND THE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOM Tuesday, January 13th Tuesday, January 27th Tuesday, February 3rd 11:45 am – 12:45 pm, period 6 12:35 pm – 1:35 pm, period 7 10:00 am – 11:00 am, period 4 Session #6 Session #7 Session # 8 THE DRIVER’S LICENSE ROAD TEST is available at Trumbull High School scheduled by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Applicants need to have completed all requirements, by the test date, to be eligible. Fees are $75.00 payable to THS Driver Education. A minimum of 2 hours behind the wheel instruction at THS @ $45.00 per hour. $40 payable to the DMV if applicant previously failed the road test. Available dates as of January 8, 2015 are: February 18th March 5th and 18th April 1st and 28th Applications for the Road Test are available outside the Continuing Education Office. All paper work must be complete before the appointment can be confirmed. All behind the wheel instruction needs to be completed by the test date. Plan ahead.
