Year 9 Assembly today: Please go to the hall at tutor time.
Dance Troupe/s: Expressions of interest are sought from senior
dance students interested in taking on a leadership role with either
the JUNIOR DANCE TROUPE or SENIOR DANCE TROUPE. A short
letter of application with ideas, skills you have to offer, and reasons
why you would make a good leader are invited to Miss Gill
(delivered to student office). Due Date: Friday 20 February.
Itinerant instrumental and vocal lessons start this week:
Please check the noticeboard between the Drama Room and the
Music Rooms for your lesson group and time. Take your $20 Fee to
your Itinerant Teacher and give it to them at your first lesson. All
fees are due in by this Friday. (20/2)

Monday – Singing, Keyboard, Piano
Tuesday – Violin, Viola, Cello, Keyboard, Piano
Wednesday – Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Singing, Piano, Flute
Thursday – Flute, Clarinet, Sax, Piano
Friday – Drums, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano
Maths Competition for (Year 9, 10, 11) Payment due by
23February, $5. Please collect information letter from your class
teacher or Mrs Boubee-Hill in J307.
Music: If you would like to join one of the school choirs or bands
the enrolment forms please sign the forms in the Music Dept as
soon as possible. Your tutor teacher has a list of musical activities
that you can read so that you can choose the group that best suits
your interests.
Part-Time Work – Greerton/Memorial Pools – 16/17 year olds:
Seeking positions for Lifeguards, holiday/afterschool programmes or
arena attendants. This could be anything from afterschool, weekend
and/or holiday shifts. Lifeguards need to be 17 years for our course,
16 years for attendants. Please leave your name, tutor class,
contact number and experience with Mrs Gould
(Year 11 Dean).
Race Unity Speech Competition for seniors (Y11-13) – please attend
a meeting today at interval in B4 for details with Mrs McCann. The
competition is in March, the speech will be 7-8mins long and the
topic is Big Change Starts Small – Itiiti Rearea, Kahika Teitei, Ka Taea
Student Exchange Australia New Zealand is holding a free
information evening for students and parents interested in overseas
exchange programmes at Tauranga South Bowling Club, Tutchen
Street, Tauranga at 7.00pm Wednesday 18 February. Imagine living
overseas for anything from two to twelve months. You'll be placed
with a host family and attend a local school. You'll live like a local
and become immersed in the culture. You'll learn the language and
gain valuable international experience. Come along to the meeting
to learn more.

Year 11 Business Studies – Miss Haines’ class. Meet in the bus bay

Year 13 - Young Enterprise – last chance to see Mrs Maurice for an
application form to be part of Young Enterprise for 2015 – must pick
up form today from E1.
Year 13 Coaches please come to the hall at interval with folders
today to see Ms Burr.
Meetings:
English Scholarship meeting today with Mrs McCann at lunchtime in
B4. All Yr 13s interested please attend.
LEO Club: Meeting for all club members in K2 at lunchtime today.
Careers:
MASHUP competition (computing, planning and marketing) for
teams of up to five, with over $2000 in prizes. Ask your tutor for
more information or come to C1.
13- 15 year olds - the Air Training Corps are recruiting cadets now.
If you are interested in the opportunity to learn skills in Power
Flying, Gliding, Navigation, First aid and Leadership and more, then
this could be for you. Meetings are every Tuesday night from 6.30th
9pm at the Army Hall on 11 Avenue. If you want to know more see

Sports:
Basketball - Junior Trials will be held Tuesday 17 and Thursday 19
Feb, in the sports Hall 5.30 – 7pm
Competitive Athletics Day – This is held at Tauranga Domain on
Tuesday 17 February. Enter and earn points for your house! This
event is open to ALL students. You do not need to be “good” or
experienced in the events, but everyone competes with maximum
effort. Enter at the sports office by Friday 13 Feb, and collect a
newsletter. You must return the permission slip in order to
compete.
Cricket – Cricket practise for all returning and new cricketers after
school on Wednesday 3.30-5pm on the back field. All must attend,
please have P.E. gear and covered shoes.
Netball Umpires Required for Tauranga Intermediate netball trials.
Must be experienced. If you can help, please see Mrs Gould in the
Deans Suite.

Softball: Any girls interested in playing Softball for the school are
welcome to attend the after school trainings at 3.30 on Mondays
and Wednesdays on the back field. All students welcome!
Tennis: Reminder to girls playing in the Senior BOP Champs to
attend a practice at the courts today at lunch time. Bring a racket
and be ready to play.
Underwater Hockey Seniors: All current and new students
interested in playing Under Water Hockey in 2015, please come to a
meeting in F7 at lunchtime today (Mon 16 Feb).
Year 9 & 10 Netball: If you missed the meeting and you are
interested in playing social or competitive Netball please collect a
newsletter & registration form from the Sports Office.
