JAN 6TH IS THE FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD
The Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of
God and Saviour of the world. The great feast of Epiphany celebrates
the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (the Magi) from the East,
representatives of the neighbouring pagan religions. The Feast of the
Epiphany of the Lord concludes the Christmas season, and it is a Holy
Day of obligation, with the following Mass times:
St. Mary’s Cathedral
Monday 5th of January Vigil - 6.15 p.m.
Tuesday 6th of January - 8.00 a.m., 10.30 a.m., 12.00 noon & 6.15p.m.
Church of the Resurrection
Monday 5th of January - Vigil 7.30 p.m.
Tuesday 6th of January - 9.30 p.m. & 11.00 a.m.
Church of the Holy Spirit, Muckross
Tuesday 6th of January - 9.30 a.m.
We encourage all to gather with the parish community for Mass for the
Holy Day, and we hope that the Mass times will suit the schools who
are planning to mark the feast day by coming to Mass.
THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED IN CHRISTMAS
CELEBRATIONS: As we bring the Christmas Season to a close, we
extend a word of thanks on behalf of the parish community to those who
were directly involved in the preparation of the cribs and the Churches,
and in the celebration of Masses over this most holy season. As we look
back over the past year, we ask God’s blessing in gratitude on all who
are involved in the parish for the celebration of the Eucharist to have
been as prayerful as they were, and to all involved in parish activities,
and we pray God’s guidance for us all over this new year ahead.
