The valves are set to open at 1000 psi (70 bar) and to relieve at 3300 psi ±300 psi (230.7 bar ±20.7 bar). The valves are set at the factory and cannot be adjusted. Machined from aluminum, the valve blocks are bolted to a flat mounting pad milled on the actuator housing. Three bolts secure the valve block to the actuator. See specification pages for valve location. Clevis Mounting Custom housing clevis mounting is available. See the photo on Page 7 for examples of both platform and jib rotation applications. Cantilever and Straddle Mounting Cantilever Mounting Straddle Mounting The load is bolt mounted to the torque flange and only supported at one end of the shaft. Cantilever mounting is never recommended for aerial work platforms, or other critical and safety-related applications. The load is supported at both ends of the shaft. The upper portion of the bracket is bolted to the torque flange, whereas the lower portion is secured by a tie rod passed through the shaft bore. 3 Foot Mounted Models: 180° Rotation A1 ► ► K2 A2 ► A2 ► ► ► ► J2, J3 ► ► ► ► ► ► PORT V2 PORT V1 J1 ► H4 ► ► H1 H2, H3 ► K1 D1 ► ► ► ► ► ► E2 C ► E3 ► PORT P1 PORT P2 L20-25, 39 Endcap ► ► L20-25, 39 Flange End B1 ► ► ► ► ► B2 AT ROT ION ATION ROT ► ► PORT P1 PORT P2 E1 ► ► ► J4 ► ► ► D2 ► E4 L20-4.5, 8.2, 15 Flange End L20-4.5, 8.2, 15 Endcap Specifications 4.58.2152539 Torque Drive Torquein-lb @ 3,000 psi Nm @ 210 bar 4,500 508 8,200 930 15,000 1,690 25,000 2,940 39,000 4,400 Holding Torquein-lb @ 3,000 psi 11,800 21,100 38,720 62,900 93,200 Nm @ 210 bar1,3002,4004,4007,10011,000 Maxium Moment Capacity in-lb 22,500 40,000 90,000 145,000 280,000 Straddle Moment Nm 2,500 4,50010,20016,40031,600 Cantilever Moment in-lb 12,000 22,000 48,000 100,000 140,000 Nm1,3602,4855,54011,00016,000 Maxium Force Capacity lb 3,050 4,700 9,230 12,300 21,100 Radial Force kg1,3802,1604,1905,5809,570 Axial (Thrust) Force lb 1,100 1,500 2,200 3,100 3,900 kg 500 6801,0001,4101,770 Displacement in3 8.05 14.30 26.60 44.30 65.70 cm3132234435725 1,076 Approximate Weight (Wet) lb 28.00 38.00 67.00 115.00 171.00 With Counterbalance Valve kg12.7017.2030.4052.2077.60 Without Counterbalance Valve lb 26.50 36.50 65.50 113.00 169.00 kg12.0016.6029.7051.3076.70 4 Dimensions 4.58.2152539 A1 Nominal housing diameter in 3.98 4.48 5.48 6.50 7.50 mm101114139165191 A2 Shaft and endcap flange diameter in 4.10 4.60 5.60 6.70 7.70 mm104117142170196 B1 Length overall, rotating in 7.40 8.50 9.75 11.75 13.25 mm188216248298337 B2 Length, non-rotating in 6.80 7.76 9.01 10.87 12.37 mm173197229276314 C Width overall in 7.00 7.50 9.80 11.00 13.00 mm178191248279330 D1 Height to centerline in 2.60 3.00 3.38 4.25 4.75 mm667686108121 D2 Height overall, without valve in 4.73 5.35 6.23 7.68 8.67 mm120136158195220 E1 Mounting length in 4.38 5.50 6.00 7.25 8.50 mm111140 152.4184216 E2 Mounting width in 5.50 6.00 7.75 8.75 10.50 mm145 152.4197222267 E3 Foot location in 1.49 1.48 1.85 2.25 2.38 mm3838475760 E4 Nominal diameter, mounting hole in 5/8 3/4 1 1 1 1/4 mmM16M20M24M24M30 H1 Bolt circle diameter, in 2.125 2.630 3.375 4.000 4.750 shaft flange mm546585102121 H2 Mounting holes, inch 3/8-16 3/8-16 1/2-13 3/4-10 3/4-10 shaft flange deep0.530.530.751.131.13 metricM10x1.5M10x1.5M12x1.75M20x2.5M20x2.5 deep1315193028 H3 Number of holes, shaft flange 6 8 8 8 10 H4 Shaft center hole inch - - - 1-8 1 1/4-7 deep--- 2.00 2.00 metric--- M24x3.0 M30-3.5 deep--- 25 50 J1 Bolt circle diameter, in - - - 4.25 4.75 endcap flange mm--- 108 121 J2 Mounting holes of endcap inch - - - 1/2-13 5/8-11 flange (S2) deep--- 0.75 0.94 metric--- M12x1.75 M16x2 deep--- 18 23 J3 Number of holes, endcap flange (S2) - - - 8 10 J4 Nominal thru hole diameter (S1) inch 3/4 1 1 - - deep - through through - metric M20 M24 M24 - deep - through through - K1 Shaft flange to counterbalance in 1.26 1.36 1.76 1.92 1.93 valve mm3235454949 K2 Counterbalance valve, in 3.16 3.41 3.91 4.41 4.91 centerline height mm808799112125 V1, V2 Ports, valve P1, P2 Ports, housing Digital drawings are available all sizes all sizes ISO 11926-1 – 7/16-20 (SAE-4) ISO 11926-1 – 7/16-20 (SAE-4) Reference Guide Drawings can be provided in .pdf, .tif, .dxf and AutoCAD 2000 .dwg formats. L20 Series actuators also exhibit much higher holding torque than driving torque for a given pressure. Breakaway pressure is approximately 400 psi (28 bar) for all models. Applied loads and other operating parameters can affect torque output by as much as ±15 percent. The L20 Series is designed to support large moment and radial loads. However, as moment and radial loads increase, the bearing friction reduces the driving torque. Other operating parameters can affect torque output by as much as ±15 percent.
