Congregational Church Of Boca Raton SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE 10:00 A.M. JANUARY 25, 2015 Welcome to Worship! No matter who you are or where you are on Life’s journey, you are welcome at Congregational Church of Boca Raton, UCC. Our doors are wide open to all who desire a closer relationship with God. We welcome believers, seekers, and doubters; ANYONE, JUST AS YOU ARE. Large-print bulletin and hearing devices are available from the ushers. Please keep this a time of quiet reflection in preparation of worship. God is calling you today, but not on your cell phone! Please remember to turn it off, or you may leave it with our head usher if you are expecting an emergency call. Nursery and pre-school care is available during worship, if you wish. All children are encouraged to come to the altar during Children's Time. Following Children’s Time, the children will go as a group to their Sunday School classes. Please fill out the Friendship Pad at the end of each pew, then pass it along to your neighbor to sign. If you are a visitor or guest, please include your mailing and/or email addresses so we may keep in touch. Adult Fellowship invites you to join us before worship for coffee in the foyer area. After worship, please join us for conversation, coffee, punch, and cookies in the fellowship hall. Pastor Tom Lacey [email protected] 251 SW Fourth Avenue, Boca Raton, FL 33432 Quiet Time Prelude “Be still, and know that I am God.” They’ll Know We Are Christians by Our Love Psalm 46:10 P. Scholtes Welcome Tom Lacey Today is a new day, rising fresh from the Creator’s hand. Today we begin again, with praise and thanks to God who made us, Christ who redeemed us and the Spirit who guides us. Here we participate in the fellowship of the forgiven, the church. It is good to be together today. Prayer Requests Call to Worship Here we are God! We’ve come from our week filled with many things. Some are filled with joy and excitement; others with sorrow and sadness. Some are filled with energy; others are filled with weariness. Some are filled with love for you; others wonder where you are. We are the gathered congregation; we come before you with all the honesty we can muster. We give you what we are; create in us clean hearts. Fill us so we can be made holy to serve you wholly. Amen * Hymn (bulletin) You Are My All in All Prayer of Confession Let us pray Holy God, we admit to you that all is not right—in our hearts and in our world, we look to the darkness and not to the light. We look for what is broken, and not at what is being mended. We look to criticize and not to praise. We look at ourselves and not to you. Turn us around so that we look at the possibility, at hope, at promise, at grace, at healing, at love. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen. Children’s Time Announcements Scripture (NT p. 131) Choral Anthem Acts 12:6-17 For the Beauty of the Earth Message C. Kocher A True Mind-Blower Pastoral Prayer God be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to God Most High. It is right to give God thanks and praise. Lord’s Prayer (Debts/Debtors) Sharing the Peace The peace of the Lord be with you. And also with you. Meet New People Offering of Tithes and Gifts Gracious and loving God, giver of all that is good and true, may our offerings represent our work, our blessings, and our faith. May they be good and true offerings as they witness to our gratitude and love for you, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Ensemble How Great the Wisdom and the Love T. McIntyre * Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow Praise God, all creatures here below Praise God above, ye heavenly host Creator, Christ, and Holy Ghost. * Hymn (PH #316) God of Earth and Sea and Heaven * Benediction * Spirit Song O let the Son of God enfold you with his Spirit and his love. Let him fill your heart and satisfy your soul. O let him have the things that hold you, and his Spirit like a dove will descend upon your life and make you whole. Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your lambs. Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your lambs. Postlude Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above * Those who are able may stand You Are My All in All You are my strength when I am weak, You are the treasure that I seek; You are my all in all. Seeking You as a precious jewel, Lord, to give up, I’d be a fool; You are my all in all. Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name! Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name! Taking my sin, my cross, my shame, Rising again I bless Your name; You are my all in all. When I fall down, You pick me up; When I am dry, You fill my cup; You are my all in all. Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name! Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name! D. We are a church of Christ's disciples making a spiritual home for God's children. Through this church, we proclaim the good news of salvation, celebrate God's healing grace, nurture the growth and gifts of God's people, and restore the joy of God's reign. May God bless us and together may we grow our one of a kind church. Whenever one of us gives to our church, we are all blessed. Whenever one of us loves enough to provide for all, God is blessed. Bless, O Lord, the work of our hands at Congregational Church of Boca Raton. Bless, O God, the ministry of our hearts among us and through us to all who come. We dedicate ourselves to your service, in Christ’s name. We dedicate our renovated church to your glory, O Lord our God.
