Day 2 Order 1

Last night the Freshman Basketball team defeated Seffner Christian 57-31. CJ Holt led all
scorers with 18 points, while Cole Joffray had 12 points, and Max Farfante had 9 points.
Luke Adams and Tyler Peterson combined for several blocks and rebounds. The team
takes on Ocala Vanguard tomorrow morning in Ocala. Congrats and good luck Freshman
Basketball!

Come out to the Tiger Palace tonight to honor senior basketball players Logan Clark,
Daniel Darst, Christian Whidden and Chad Holtz as the Tigers take on 8th ranked
Cardinal Mooney. JV action begins at 6:00, and the senior presentation begins at 7:15
before the 7:30 varsity tip-off. Good luck seniors and Tiger Basketball!

Day 1 Order 3 for Intramurals

Intramural action resumes today. Check campus postings for game sites.

There will be no Pro-Life Club meeting tomorrow.

Attention Tiger Essayists: What is important to you? What is a ‘guiding principle’ in
your life? What are your core values? What do you believe? This year’s St. Ignatius
Gold Medal Essay Contest invites you to answer these questions as you share “This I
believe”. Remember that essays are due tomorrow, January 23rd. Good luck during the
competition, and may you be met with the prestige of the glorious Gold Medal.

The varsity soccer team defeated Jefferson in the district semi-final last night 1-0 on a
goal by Harrison Astorquiza and assisted by Daryian Flores. With the win the Tigers
have advanced to the District Championship this Friday at 7pm at Jesuit. Congrats Tiger
Soccer!

Last night the varsity basketball team defeated Middleton 50-46 behind Christian
Whidden’s 20 points and 10 rebounds. Chad Holtz scored 12 big second half points and
the Tigers improved to 6-0 in districts and got their 8th straight win. Come out tomorrow
night to the Tiger Palace for senior night as the Tigers take on 18-1 Cardinal Mooney.

Day 6 Order 1

Intramural action resumes tomorrow. Students who participate in intramurals may dress
down according to intramural dress code.

Philosophy Club will meet this afternoon after school in room 107. All are welcome to
attend.

Congratulations to Tim Dolan and Jason Kohlhepp, who were selected by a vote of
league coaches as all stars by the Florida State Hockey Association. Tim Dolan has also
been nominated for the Dave Andreychuk Scholarship given annually to the hockey
player who best exemplifies the leadership qualities of the former Tampa Bay Lightning
captain. Also, as a reminder hockey action continues this Friday night in Brandon at the
Ice Sports Forum against Wiregrass Ranch. Puck drop is at 7:30 pm. Good luck Tiger
Hockey!

The JV Basketball team defeated Wiregrass Ranch last night 64-37. The Tigers were led
by Bradley Good's season high 14 points and Lucas Uzdavinis' 12 points. Combined,
these two hit a total of 8 three pointers in the game. Please come out and support the JV
Team as they play their final home game of the season this coming Friday vs Cardinal
Mooney. Congrats JV Basketball!

Last night the varsity basketball team held off a late Wiregrass Ranch rally and defeated
the Bulls 69-61 for their 7th consecutive victory. Christian Whidden poured in 30 points,
along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals, Stevie Darst added 16 points, and Chad Holtz
contributed a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds to go along with 5 assists.
The Tigers are back in action tonight with a 7:00 game against Middleton. Make plans to
attend Friday nights senior night game against 18-1 Cardinal Mooney in the Tiger Palace.



submitted by 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. Please see Mrs. Diaz if you have any questions.


Last weekend Jesuit was represented by Spencer Whipple in the All-State Honor
Orchestra at the All-State Conference at Tampa Convention Center. Spencer was selected
with other high school students from the state of Florida. Only 50 were selected.
Congratulations, Spencer!

On Saturday the jv wrestling team competed at Durant High School. Six jv wrestlers
finished with winning records – Eli Davenport, Nick Terrana, Patrick Eberly, and Diego
Perez went 3-2, which Jack Hermes and Luke Surak finished 4-1. Congrats jv wrestlers!

On Friday and Saturday the varsity wrestling team competed in a tournament at
Kissimmee Osceola High School. On Friday night, the team went 3-0 in dual meets,
defeating South Lake 56-12, Barron Collier 52-26, and Sebastian River 43-18. On
Saturday Dean Berninghaus and Thomas Mooney placed fifth, Grayson Fisher placed
third, Adam Lewis and Brian Buser placed second, and RC Consuegra and Nick Mosco
finished first to lead the team to a fourth place finish. Congrats varsity wrestling!

Last Friday night the varsity basketball team improved its district record to 5-0 by
defeating Spoto in the Tiger Palace. Onn Saturday afternoon the Tigers avenged a preseason loss with a dominating 77-51 victory over Boca Ciega. Christian Whidden,
drained five three-pointers on his way to 25 points and 11 rebounds. Chad Holtz added 9
points and a game high 12 rebounds. Stevie Darst scored 12 points and dished out 6
assists, and the Tigers defense led by DJ Snyder and Ryan Fleming held the Pirates
leading scores averaging 27 points a game to only 11 points. The Tigers have back to
back road games tonight at Wiregrass Ranch and tomorrow at Middleton. Make plans to
attend Friday night’s big senior night game against 8th ranked 14-1 and Cardinal Mooney
in the Tiger Palace. Congrats and good luck Tiger Basketball.
