Include Entry Fee of $15 for up to 3 works, $5 for each additional work entered. Saturday, April 11, 2015 Notification of Acceptance Saturday, May 2, 2015 (on or about) via email Art Drop Off Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 10 am to 12 Noon Show Closes Tuesday, June 16, 2015 Art Pick Up Wednesday, June 17, 2015 10 am - 12 Noon Eligibility and Requirements The show is open to all members of PAOA at time of entry submission. All submitted artwork must be a fine art depiction of the human portrait or figure in an environment (indoor or outdoor) or with an object(s) or animal(s), to adhere to the theme of the show “People, Places, and Things”, no nudes (no exceptions). Artwork shall be two-dimensional and in any medium. Works must be properly framed. Unframed gallery-wrapped stretched canvases (stapled on back) and cradled panels with a minimum depth of 1 1/4” should be painted on all sides. Must have eyescrews (preferably D-rings). No sawtoothed hangers allowed. Mats must be neutral in color, clean, and professional in appearance. All artwork is to be labeled on back with artist name, title, and price (or NFS). It is the Artists’ responsibility to charge a consistently fair price for work entered, not exceedingly overpriced or underpriced. For insurance purposes, work valued at more than $5,000 must provide a professional appraisal. Works may not weigh more than 20 lbs, with frame. 3. Submit a JPG for each piece sized to 72 dpi approximately 400-500kb or 1,000 pixels maximum on longest side. IMPORTANT: Images must be sized correctly in order to be visible in our system. Each image must be labeled with the title of piece and your first initial and last name, e.g.: PortraitofErin_JDoe.jpg Images should be cropped to exclude extraneous backgrounds or frames and adjusted for color correctness and quality. Jurying is done from your images. Poor quality photography or improperly prepared images may result in disqualification. CDs will not be returned. Prints or slides will not be accepted. 4. You will be notified by E-mail. You must provide a working E-mail address. 5. Submit entries via ONLINE at www.portraitartistsofarizona.org OR If mailing, include entry form, CD, signed “Holds Harmless”, a check payable to PAOA, and mail to: PAOA Entries P.O. Box 31789 Phoenix, Arizona 85046 6. If you are joining at time of entry, be sure to include $45 for membership dues good through end of 2015. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disqualification of your entries. HOLDS HARMLESS Work must be available for exhibition, shall remain on display for the term of the exhibit. Work must have been completed within the past four years. Works shown in previous PAOA exhibitions, 2012, 2013, 2014 and the 2015 exhibition at SAS) are eligible for entry. Works entered into previous shows and not accepted are not eligible for entry. ASU Gammage will make all reasonable effort to protect works of art and provides for insurance of artwork while on the walls (maximum value $5,000). However, PAOA, or any of its representatives will not be held liable for any damages, loss, theft, or injury which may occur during any/ all activities. PAOA reserves the right to refuse any/all work. This is an exhibition not a sale, however, title cards may have your contact information should someone wish to purchase or commission a portrait directly from you, not through ASU Gammage. Signing this release means you approve of the use of your artwork for PAOA publications and promotional material. Furthermore, the abovementioned parties will not be responsible for damages or loss of submission materials. I hereby agree to these terms.
