Museum für Naturkunde – venue and directions
The first day of the Symposium (11 Feb) will be held in the central exhibition hall “under the dinosaurs” at the
Museum für Naturkunde (Invalidenstraße 43, 10115 Berlin), located in the center of Berlin.
From Dahlem-Dorf (Seminaris Hotel and Conference Center), please take underground line
U 3 towards Nollendorfplatz to Spichernstraße (about 10 minutes). Change there to underground line
U 9 towards Osloer Straße and get off at Leopoldplatz (about 12 minutes). Change again to
underground line U 6 towards Friedrichstraße and get off at Naturkundemuseum (about 5 minutes).
This connection operates in 5-minute intervals at weekdays and takes about 30-35 minutes.
From the airport Tegel (TXL), please take Bus 128 (towards Osloer Straße) to U Kurt-SchumacherPlatz (about 10 minutes). Change there to underground line U 6 towards Friedrichstraße and get off
at Naturkundemuseum (about 10 minutes). This connection operates in 10-minute intervals at
weekdays and takes about 25 minutes.
Alternatively, you can take Bus TXL (towards S+U Alexanderplatz) to Hauptbahnhof (about 20-25
minutes) and walk about 800 meters along Invalidenstraße (following the direction of the bus).
From the airport Schönefeld (SXF), please take either a regional train towards Dessau or Nauen to
Friedrichstraße (about 25 minutes). Change there to underground line U 6 towards Alt-Tegel and get
off at Naturkundemuseum (about 3 minutes). This connection operates every 30 minutes and takes
about 35 minutes.
Or you can take suburban train line S 9 (towards Pankow) to Ostkreuz (about 25 minutes).
(Alternatively, you can take line S 45 up to Schöneweide and proceed with line S 8 to Ostkreuz).
Change at Ostkreuz to lines S 5, S 7, or S 75 (towards Potsdam, Spandau, or Westkreuz) and get off at
Friedrichstraße (about 13 minutes). Change there to underground line U 6 towards Alt-Tegel and get
off at Naturkundemuseum (about 3 minutes). This connection takes about 50 minutes.
From Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), you can walk (about 800 meters) along
Invalidenstraße or take bus lines 142, 147, or 245 towards Ostbahnhof or Nordbahnhof for one stop
to Invalidenpark.

The second day of the Symposium (12 Feb) and the entire Kickoff Meeting (13-15 Feb) will be held at the Seminaris
Conference Center (Takustraße 39, 14195 Berlin) in Berlin-Dahlem in the south-west of Berlin.
From Museum für Naturkunde, please take underground line U 6 towards Alt-Tegel to
Leopoldplatz (about 5 minutes). Change there to underground line U 9 towards Rathaus Steglitz and
get off at Spichernstraße (about 12 minutes). Change again to underground line U 3 towards Krumme
Lanke and get off at Dahlem-Dorf (about 10 minutes). This connection operates in 5-minute intervals
at weekdays and takes about 30-35 minutes.
From airport Tegel (TXL), please take Bus 109 or Bus X9 (towards S+U Zoologischer Garten) to U
Jakob-Kaiser-Platz (about 5 minutes). Change there to underground line U 7 towards Rudow and get
off at Fehrbelliner Platz (about 10 minutes). Change again to underground line U 3 towards Krumme
Lanke and get off at Dahlem-Dorf (about 8 minutes). This connection operates usually in 10-minute
intervals during daytime and takes about 30 minutes.
From airport Schönefeld (SXF), please take suburban train line S 45 (towards Südkreuz) to
Südkreuz (about 30 minutes). Change there to line S 41 (circle line) and get off at Heidelberger Platz
(about 7 minutes). Change again to underground line U 3 towards Krumme Lanke and get off at
Dahlem-Dorf (about 6 minutes). This connection operates usually in 20-minute intervals and takes
about 55 minutes.
From Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), please take suburban train line S 5, S 7, or S 75
(towards Potsdam, Spandau, or Westkreuz) to Zoologischer Garten (about 6 minutes). Change there
to underground line U 9 towards Rathaus Steglitz and get off at Spichernstraße (about 3 minutes).
Change again to underground line U 3 towards Krumme Lanke and get off at Dahlem-Dorf (about 10
minutes). This connection operates usually in 10-minute intervals during daytime and takes about
30 minutes.
From Seminaris Conference Center to Botanic Garden,
you can have a walk of about 800 meters or take the Bus
X83 from Museen Dahlem for two stops to Königin-LuisePlatz/Botanischer Garten.
