The Team Rector, with the Bishop’s permission, has invited Robin Ham to serve as a Pioneer Curate. Robin is married to Zoe and they have a young daughter, Evie, and are expecting a second child in May. The Ham’s will live at Holbeck and part of Robin’s remit will be to exercise a pioneering ministry in that area. More details to follow! If you were going on holiday you would need to ‘get ready’. As Christians we are charged with preparing people for the ultimate journey - eternity! ‘Believe...in Barrow’ will provide a unique opportunity to do just that! In the meantime, please pray for Robin as he completes his studies at Oak Hill College and for the whole family as they prepare for another baby and move to Barrow in June. Robin will be ordained at Carlisle Cathedral on Sunday 28 June. Also, give thanks to God for His generous provision and for the sending the Hams to us! ASH WEDNESDAY 18 February 2015 HOLY COMMUNION in SOUTH BARROW 9.15 am at St Aidan’s Hall with Revd Jo Northey Do come along as we embark into Lent 2015 - everyone welcome! On Saturday 21 February, from 10 am until 1 pm at St Francis’ Church, Canon Roger Simpson, (leader of ’Believe...in Barrow’), will provide an opportunity to help us make the most of the unique opportunity. ‘GETTING READY’ will include practical help & encouragement on how to share your faith and keep your friends; how to invite people to events; what resources may be helpful, etc. The day will also help us to consider how our congregations can prepare to welcome new people, and develop ‘seekers’ groups for those who want to know more about what it means to be a Christian. You may be reading this and thinking: “This sounds good but it’s not for someone like me”. Well, ‘Getting Ready’ is for anyone who is concerned for the future well-being of family, friends, neighbours and colleagues and who believe Jesus can make a real difference in this life and the next.
